I had to run my usual morning errands today. You know packages to post office, trip to the bank, garage sales, the important stuff. I also ran out of coffee pods this morning and the only store i my area that sells them is about 6 miles away.

I left the house this morning wearing my favorite girl jeans (sorry Karren) a new top I bought yesterday at Catherines. Kind of an Americana theme. Due to all the opinions on this forum about not wearing hose with sandals I decided to do it. i put on suntan sandalfoot kneehighs and my comfy black sandals, just to see if it would actually bring out the villagers with torches and pitchforks. I topped it off with my favorite wig, which is also my most worn. It is an unusual color scheme. The top third is light brown fading into the middle a dark blond and finishing at the tips a medium brown. It is really cool but as I said has seen better days.

When I arrive at the market I went straight to the coffee section because everything else in the store can be bought anywhere else for less. As I was picking up a box of coffee pods a woman approached me just out of my peripheral vision and put her hand on my shoulder. Scared the living crap out of me. She then proceeded to say "I just wanted to tell you that I just love your hair". That shook me to the core. Then just as I was trying to figure out how to respond she said "are you growing it out or did you have it styled that way". At this point my mind is totally blown. I mean come on what about choice number three? It's a wig. i bought it this way. (on the inside) What I actually said was "thank you so much. I actually had it done this way. You have just made my day. What a nice thing to say" She walked away and as she rounded the corner she looked back over her shoulder one more time.

I have to say from then on I floated on a cloud to the register and out to my car. What a wonderful start to my day.

Tomorrow I am going wig shopping to see if I can find another one or five just like this. Funny thing is it is also my least expensive. I only paid $24.95 for it. Go figure!!

Great story Michelle I too had a stranger comment on a very similar wig I was wearing once and it too made me realize just how nice it is to receive a compliment Don't have a photo of myself wearing it but her is the wig

Yes that is very similar. I had mine cut a little off the shoulder and to frame my fat face a little more but the color is real close.

Tommorrow I am going to wear pantyhose with either a skort or capris and of course open toe shoes. Just to see if the fashion police are watching.

You never know, you may make a name for yourself and become a fashion Leader,a sort of Pied Piper attracting the fashinistas to your way of thinking

I did my morning errands in this skirt with pantyhose and sandals. Oh the scorn I have brought on us all. My god!! Pantyhose on a hot summer day. Sandals too EWWW LOL The capris and simple top are more what i would normally wear. But today I did lunch with pantyhose and sandals with them as well. The last photo is a closeup of the offending item.

As you could have guessed nothing happened. Nothing bad was said. One cashier said "I like your skirt" but for the most part it was just another day. For the record I think I look terrible in the skirt. To me it looks like the classic "man in a dress". My wife says no and no one ever gives me a second look but what do you think??159837
