I've covered my toenails in clear polish.

They apear to be a little shinier than normal which is nice.

The question I have is, do I notice this because I'm looking for it or would someone not looking notice. The reason I ask is because I hav my yoga class in a couple of days and I'm thinking on leaving the polish on.

Thanks for any replies.

My toe nails have light pink polish on them right now. I wear open toe sandals out in public, and usually no shoes when I work out at the YMCA. Most of the time my toes are a bright red color!! No one has ever said anything about the color of my toes!!

Isn't it the excitement and risk that somone might notice the main reason you polished them in the first place. Go for it

The question that you should ask is: "Will having someone notice your polished toenails be detrimental to you?"

I wear clear quite often on my fingernails for normal activities, but I wouldn't wear it for a meeting with my boss.

Even GGs ask similar questions, though more about what shade to wear than whether to wear polish at all.

I wear clear polish on all my nails 24/7 and no one not even my wife says a thing. If your worried look into Orly Nails for Males. A nice matte finish clear polish that doesn't shine as much... Or china glaze matte magic which will give any polish a matte finish. Personally even with color I love a matte or satin finish.

Men will not notice at all, they're very imperceptive creatures :heehee: The women might notice but I doubt they'll care. There's a HUGE difference between clear polish and painted nails.

Some people will notice, especially if you are out in the sun or light reflects off of them. My toe nails and finger nails have clear or a light transparent pink on them all the time. Many people have noticed, but only a few have made comments. Try it and see what happens.

I wear a shinny clear polish on my fingers nails which are very long for a man.. shoot they are very long for some women. I have been wearing this polish for over a year and NO ONE has said anything to me about it. That includes family and friends, now one person did ask another friend that knows I polish them why I was wearing polish. Don't know what they told them. If someone ask me I will simple say it is a clear harder... enough said.

I don't use polish but I do buff and shine my toe nails to a high gloss. Kendra is probably correct in the risk factor motivating some of this behavior. I love seeing the sparkle when I'm out in the sun or from high intensity lighting. The downside for me is either covering my feet (wearing shoes) or taking the gloss off my nails when we're seeing the family.

Most people wont notice, but i do know a lot of non-cd straight guys who get their nails done with clear polish.

Not much for sandals, but I wear clear polish on my finger a lot, and after years of doing it, I've only had two people ask about it. Both of them where men.

Leave it. Those who are very astute may notice, but the vast majority won't. Of the ones who do, very few will care. Of the very few who care, you might get one comment. Is it worth not doing something you enjoy in order to avoid that one comment?

Now, when you start wearing color on them, you may get a few more comments. They still won't necessarily be negative though. :)

You could use a matte polish if you want to get used to wearing polish in public.

I wear clear quite often on my fingernails for normal activities, but I wouldn't wear it for a meeting with my boss.

Today at afternoon coffee break, I was pushing my fingers against my mug of hot chocolate, as my hands were hurting from RSI. My (male) boss looked over the table at me and asked whether my fingers were blue or whether I had nail polish on. I had to examine them to check to be sure; yes, my fingernails were darker than usual, whether due to cold or reduced blood circulation, but No, there was no polish on them. I answered (after I looked) that No, my fingers were just cold. The co-worker that I work with most closely added, "But he has worn polish in the past." I didn't say anything, and I didn't blush, and I didn't turn away or look embarrassed; I'm not sure I even bothered to shrug. The conversation went on to other topics -- my nail polish wasn't important. More time was spent in the conversation discussing the two Presidents George Bush.

Truth to tell, I would have been surprised if people had never noticed my nail polish before now, as I wore it openly, for weeks at a time, usually a light blue or gold.

Julie,

Almost everyone in my yoga class has polished toenails (red. blue, pink) so I would suggest that we wear a bright color on your toes. I always have a professional pedicure and wear bright red on my toes as a guy. I get a lot of compliments on my choice of colors and beautiful nails. Forget the clear and put a pretty bright red on those toes!

Thanks for the replies girls.
I forgot to state that I only recently shaved my body so have went from being quite hairy to smooth all over. I don't know if this has went unnoticed but last week my teacher referred to the class as girls for the first time ever, did this again and then after a pause said and guys.
I'm defo going to keep the polish on.
Will let y'all know how I get on.

Julie,

Good for you! Did your pulse race a bit when the instructor said "girls"? I'm shaved, wear clear nail polish most of the time when not dressed and have never had a comment. Some notice my hands, but don't say anything. Enjoy your yoga!

Believe me, very few people will even pay any attention, so just go for it!

First time I was asked about it, I panicked, and said it was a nail strengthener, because my nails where brittle and kept breaking, not sure anyone believed it, they where getting pretty long by then.
