What got you into crossdressing?

I know that this question has been asked numerous times, but I was curious to see if anyone got into crossdressing for reasons similar to my own. I first fell in love with long nails. I bought some Lee Press On Nails in glamour length and wore them whenever I could. In short, I had a nail fetish. Well, it's tough to go out as a guy with crazy long and feminine nails. The only way I could pull off the nails was to dress as a female. I was mostly into stripper platforms and kind of "****ty" clothing initially. But after a couple of makeovers, I saw that I had some potential. Now, I buy fashionable and trendy clothing. Gone are the stripper shoes. I've practiced my makeup and am getting better. Hope to post some pictures soon. So what got you into dressing?

I remember getting out of the bath one evening when I must have been 6 or 7 years old, and I went into my parents room and there was a pair of tights (pantyhose) and a skirt on the floor. I put them on, and was hooked. Also, I had a beautiful aunt who used to wear really lovely shoes, and I think she inadvertently got me interested in women's footwear!

Lipstick and high heels. Those are the "what" but I don't know "why". They were just something that I was attracted to and excited me a lot, long before I should have had even a twitch of a sexual impulse (which did come later - ha).

I can't say what "got" me into crossdressing--as if there was a single incident or circumstance that sent me down a different path. I had a pervading sense, even in childhood, that womanhood was "right" for me, and that my designation as male was simply bad fortune. In time I learned how to be male, but all through the years I secretly grieved over that missed opportunity.

As far back as I can remember I was infatuated with certain women's clothing items and hairstyles. I remember even though "homosexuality" and everything that goes with it was almost never mentioned in polite company back when I was 6,7 or 8. There were sometimes drag queens and female impersonators on those cheezy old TV variety shows like Danny Kaye,Red Skelton,Ed Sullivan,Dean Martin,Hollywood Palace,Milton Berle(!)-(Uncle Miltie's original show was back a couple of years before I was born but he came back for awhile in 1966! Not only did he have the guests,he dressed,too!). It must've been in 1964 or 1965,before puberty,that it dawned on me I was one of those people at age 8.
I knew I should make the best of it as the opportunity arose to get the clothes and stuff as I got older.

I started on a dare from a cousin. He dared me to wear panties and a dress. I was seven years old and scared but I did it anyway. The panties were pink and silky smooth and the dress was a summer dress, yellow with red and green flower print. I was hooked as soon as I felt the smoothness of the panties against my skin and saw how the dress flowed when I walked.

She didn't mind that I was exploring that side of me, and was a little jealous that I could wear heels that she couldn't wear. She even painted my toenails a couple times. We split for reasons other than crossdressing, but she gave me some of her wrap skirts and we remain friends. More recently, I got my ears pierced, and bought some dresses and a denim skirt.

When I was a small child, when Mom didn't get the laundry done I'd end up in my sisters shorts, tops, pj's or panties...or if it was a cold night one of her flannel nightgowns. At 10, I spent 3 weeks with my (female) cousins. Suitcase got left in the trunk with the parents who were going on a week long second honeymoon...the proverbial crossdressers fantasy. I stayed there 3 weeks...all of it in my cousins "hand-me-downs". The hook was set. Then, the summer I turned 15 I stayed with the grand parents. VERY long story but I spent almost all of it as Jennifer. At 18 I planned on going to college and living as a girl once I got there. In the mountains of Colorado girls don't wear many skirts/dresses but I managed to fit in...for about 2 weeks...then I met this girl... We married when I was 20, with her help I started hormones at 21 (also a long story), transitioned just before I turned 22, lived full time till I was 26 then part time for 2 years before transitioning back "to the dark side" at 28. Went back to full time CD (just passing myself off as a male this time) when I was 40.

What got me started?.....not a clue...

At 4 or 5 years old I was playing with a girl and for some strange reason noticed her shoes and we switched. As soon as I put them on there was a sexual excitement that took over my body. When she wanted her shoes back we had a little argument because they felt so good on I didn't want to take them off. Yeah, that's how it was with me! Twas the pantyhose that did me in. It was all downhill from there. Now I love all the other stuff too!
I can also remember a friend's sister commenting how I had such nice long eyelashes, how she was jealous, and how I should try mascara on! Little did she know.

As long as I can remember I have always liked skirts, and thought it highly unfair that boys could only have short hair and wear pants or shorts, and girls could have short hair, long hair, wear pants, short, dresses, or skirts.
Then I watched my mom get dressed in a pair of pantyhose right in front of me (she did not know I was in the room), and I asked her when I could try a pair on. Her answer was that Boys did not wear them. (it is a long story)
Well a few years later I tried on a pair, and fell in love with the feel. Then tried a dress on over them, and it was then I realized we males had been cheated. LOL. It was the most free feeling while clothed I had ever felt (only to be one upped when I first donned a catsuit).
I only got into full on crossdressing when I realized that males may never gain the freedom of choice in styles, so I decided to see how well I could pass. Also being in the Goth subculture where androgyny was a common thing (sadly not so anymore), I was no stranger to wearing skirts and other "feminine" things.
The full on CD Pythos has only been around for 2 or three years. All other years were androg, or male in leggings or skirts looks.

I have shared my “story” before someplace on this forum...

CDing never crossed my mind until I was about 28 years old. I was picking zucchini in my garden and opened the trash can to toss in some weeds I pulled. There was a plastic bag on top of the trash with a sundress & shoes in it that my “roommate” had obviously discarded. A few minutes later I was in the “barn” (garage) trying them on. They fit! Lucky me...:battingeyelashes: Things progressed from point and I have been dressing ever since that day.

So, obviously simple logic told me that crossdressing is caused by picking zucchini.:D

Life is really not that complicated if you just take a few seconds to apply common sense. :heehee:

I'm 25 and crossdressing never crossed my mind until recently. As spring came and the weather got hotter I wanted a pair of shorts and my sister's were just laying there. I want to mention that her shorts are shorter then mine. And much nicer. Then I tried a pink T, then a bra, and although I did this to have some fun, something happend. I liked what I saw. I liked my new self. Since then I use every opportunity to explore my new alter-ego, named Simone.

* A children encyclopedia that had a book about ballet. I always loved to see the painting of the position and movements, and I remember closing my room's door to hide and practice the movements and positions. Not really crossdressing, but the first time I felt feminine.

* Pantyhose. The feeling is great. Maybe encouraged because my mom used to say that I have beautiful legs.

One were I walked through a magic door and a second, that came along a little later, were a good friend had invented a pill, that turned me into a girl, for as long as I wanted. For me there was a very definite seminal moment!

I think I was about 11/12 where I was chosen to play a girls part in an end of year Christmas play for the boy scouts........ Of course I had to borrow a pink dress, shoes and even a hair ribbon (no panties though) from my sister for the play & Mum did my make-up. WELL !! a door was not only opened, but blown to pieces !! I just loved the soft feel & flow of the dress and the feel of the ribbon in my hair, the taste of the lipstick - even the small heel on the shoes felt new and exciting.

I was TOTALLY embarrassed doing the play in front of everyone though............. but there was no looking back from there.
