I have thought about this for a long time. I have taken a vacation to San Francisco and Chicago and spent the entire weekend as Michelle. Now I am seriously considering going to Europe in the fall and wonder how many more would be willing to take a vacation en femme.

The condition of this question is to fly roundtrip and spend 100% of the time en femme. How many are willing to do that and do you have limitations on where you would go for that vacation? Anybody done this and what was your experience?

I travel a lot en femme, but mainly on business and obviously I can't be pretty the whole time. I have spent a week at a time en femme at conferences which was a ball and actually a 24-7 vacation is one of the things on my TG bucket list. Flying pretty is nerve wracking at first. Then a great adventure once you get past the fear and then it becomes a pain in the tail like air travel is anymore.

I would, but most of my vacatoins would probably involve family...

If you include all of the events we have for us (SCC, Be-All, Sparkle, DLV), there are a lot of us that have vacationed en-femme. As long as my wife is okay with it, I will plan an appropriate time for Sue's vacations without overrunning our vacations. That probably means something like DLV for Sue and trips to visit the family that is scattered all over the US for us. I don't know if I can do the flying part though. That is a commitment because you can't just decide the heat is on and change. Maybe someday....

In May I spent 11 days in Montreal. I shopped, went to museums, etc., and had a lovely time and was treated exceptionally well wherever I was. 24/7, the entire time.

I have to fly?? Gawd, I'd be nervous enough just being en femme, and dealing with security, but to have to get on a jet... I've only flown once, and it was in a bi-plane. :/

Let me set that part of the question aside. Would I go somewhere and spend the entire time en femme? I don't know. I would want to be able to control my interactions with the public, and to be able to retreat if I started to have those wtf moments. Yeah, so I'm not sure. I don't think I could at this stage.

I hear Denver is nice. Good people, lots to do, some nightlife. Skiing in the winter. :)

This concept of vacation intrigues me though. That is where you can get away and not think about work right? I sort of remember that from 25 years ago.

But I love 'Frisco and the surrounding area. That would be a good choice. Expensive but good

I have had some vacation time enfemme while on a cruise (2 days while at sea), and a visit to the Biltmore estate in Asheville, NC but never 100% of the time.

The closest to 100% was Asheville, but this was only a weekend getaway, not what I consider a true vacation. I got pretty and left the house with my wife at 10 AM, we went to see a showcase model home, then to Asheville, and had dinner and then back to the hotel for a good nights sleep. The next morning I got pretty & spent the whole day pretty going to Biltmore, wine tasting and then home. So about 36 hours straight. It was great.

I've done Dignity Cruises. It was fun. But dressing every day takes a ton of effort and it became a bit of hassle. I'm probably the laziest crossdresser you'll ever meet. It was fun while it lasted.

There's cruise lines that do CD/TG cruises, ya know. :ms:

So Far I've been to Keystone Conference in Pennsyvania for a couple of days. It was such a blast that now I'm headed to Atlanta in Septmber for the Southern Comfort Conference. It's cool to meet people that know me from this forum.

Yes I would and have. I am mostly 24/7 now so I wouldn't think of going any other way. My only limit on location is my passport is expired so will have to stay domestic.

Some years ago, when both our children had left our house, my late wife and I did take a 10 day vacation to England and parts of Europe! I was Stephanie when we left the U.S.A. and still Stephanie when we came home. I took no male clothes with me! My wife and I had decided to be 2 girls on vacation, and that is way it was. We both agreed that it was of the best vacations that we ever had!! If I could do my makeup and wig as my dear wife could I would take another trip like that. I can't do that, so no enfemme trip now!!

That is the kind of trip that I am thinking about. Fly into London and see some of UK before getting on a train to Paris. See the sights before getting on another train for Rome. Then after having several days of fun in Italy fly home.

The longest I have been en femme was 3 days last November when I flew en femme to Las Vegas and back. I had a great time, but trying to shave close so few days in a row (twice a day) was not kind to my face at all. I would love to take a vacation en femme, New York City, Washington D.C., international to London or wherever. I just hate to think about trying to pack for a trip like that!

Sitting on an airplane in a skirt or dress is no different than sitting there wearing mens pants!! Just make sure you use the ladies room in the airports!!

Michelle, your trip is almost exactly what my wife and I (Stephanie) did! It really is a fun way to see things!!

My wife and I did a dignity cruise in October 2010 for 5 days. I was dressed the whole 5 days. As a matter of fact, the only boy clothes I took where the ones i wore on the drive to the port in New Orleans. We had a great time and I would do it again in a heartbeat. You would be amazed at how many crossdressers where on this cruise. I even went ashore in Cozumel and Progresso en femme.

My spouse and I have been discussing this recently and are trying to decide where we would like to go for a week vacation. We go out regularly shopping and dining so the venue is not the issue. We just can't decide where we'd like to go on the East Coast. We would be driving so we're looking for suggestions if anyone can help.
It will be my first time spending more than 2 days totally enfemme and I'm really looking forward to the experience.

I personally don't feel that it is necessary to have a friend go on the trip. I think the best part of the journey is making new friends. I came out there to SF last year and I came away from there with a friend. AllieSF was one of the best experiences in SF. I was able to experience SF and see it from a very unique perspective. My wish would be to find other Allie's on my journeys.

Sorry Michelle, God only made one of me, Allie. However, I heard that God made a lot of Alexis', Allessa's, Maria's, Michelle's, Sandy's, and a few Michael's just to make it interesting. Actually, most of my best friends are unfortunately travelers and I only get to meet them on those rare occasions that they travel here. I now have a lot of friends to visit if I ever start traveling. So, actually I like your idea Michelle, a TG friend in every port, or is that airport?

I have taken a couple of vacations en femme 24/7 and loved it and had a great time. Although I have not flown en femme myself, my understanding from several members on this board that have shared their experiences is that it is not really an issue fro domestic flights but you might run into problems if you are traveling internationally. If you are going to Europe you may want to consider flying drab and changing once you arrive. It would also provide you with at least one or two sets of male clothes just in case you encounter any problems when you are there.

I have been enfemme for the past 30 years. You know us TS's, it is about being ourselves rather than crossdressing though. I have traveled by myself all over the world even before SRS. It is a little scary at first the security checks and all but you quickly get used to it. Pack you bags and get out there. There is a whole big world just waiting for you to explore.

While part of me would love to take a vacation en femme, at this point I'm afraid it's impossible. I'm still in college, so the only vacations I get are to visit family, and none of my relatives know about my CD side.

Disregarding that, even if I could afford a "real" vacation—just for fun, somewhere where nobody would recognize me—I'd be hesitant. Even though I could probably pass on appearance (depending on the vacation, of course, I might not have an appropriate wardrobe yet), I'd give myself away the moment I opened my mouth. I do sometimes get mistaken for a woman on the phone, but it's far from consistent and I can't make it happen on demand. My natural voice is decidedly male (albeit on the higher side of the spectrum), and if I happened to catch a cold on the way it drops even lower.

Regardless of passability, I don't think I could do it on my own—at least not the first time. I've never been "out" in public, so I'd need somebody to lean on. And my support group is rather small; I'm pretty sure I can count the people outside this forum who do know about me on one hand. (One of them is a sort-of-girlfriend, but that's a story for another time.) And right now it's not likely that any of them could afford a major trip, either.

Having said all that, if a perfect set of circumstances were to arise—sufficient time and money, someone supportive to go with, and a way to mask my voice—I'd definitely be interested in some extended girl-time. I'd be freaking out for at least the first day, running through all the what-ifs, but it's something I could probably be talked into.

One of the trips that I am thinking of is to go to Aberdeen Scotland to visit a castle there that use to be in my family years ago.

That's why you network. Get to know people in other cities and then call them up. That way you get to either make a new friend or improve the friendship and see the sights with someone who you can talk to. That is how I met AllieSF in SF. If you are heading there, then definitely call her up. She is the hostess with the mostestess. :D

Here in Denver a lot of people look me up because I run the meetup group here. Sometimes Steffi contacted me when she was visiting and was able to go out with 27 of us to dinner and a private shopping trip. BTW we have 220 members now after a little more than one year. So we have plenty going on.

Lastly, don't be afraid to go out and travel. The world is no scarier than your own city, but a lot more exciting. So come out and see the world. Some of the best trips have been as Michelle.

I is doing that starting tomorrow! I'm in Vegas til Sunday, but I have to wait until tomorrow when my dad leaves me alone for the remainder of the trip to go enfemme. I'm not sure what to do, but he gave me $300 to enjoy myself... I'm thinking of going shopping, maybe getting an outfit or two and a makeover at Sephora.

It's been a little uncomfortable so far though - there was a drag queen street performer, and when we walked past my dad looked at her and told me "that's just wrong *shudder*".

I just came back from vacation. A road trip from Northern Virginia to Asheville with my wife. And, of course, we did tour the Biltmore.

If I was en femme, I'd be concerned about safety at some of the places we had to stop for gas or to eat or to use the bathroom. And ewe, the bathrooms in gas stations. I'm always glad I get to stand far away. I would never sit on one of those gas station comodes.

But I would love to go to Be All or SCC. I'm shooting for Harrisburg next year.

I would in a heartbeat! I have made a dozen or so trips to the Cites dressed for as long as 3 days now. But I still have my safety area, about a 5 square blocks around my hotel and the GLBT friendly clubs. I am slowly getting more comfortable as I am getting better with my clothes and makeup. The first times out I got HUGE double takes. Now people notice, but bearly acknowledge me. I would love to got to Vegas or on a Dignaty Cruse. Just gotta get the cash.

I went to DLV last year. A whole week totally dressed and I loved it. And with my wife's OK. My first time out, other than to a gay bar and all main stream. Since my ideal vacation would probably consist of being a beachcomber on a deserted beach with a well-stocked bar, wine cellar, and fridge (also being gifted with incredible luck or skill at finding crabs, clams, sea bass and cocount), and staying in a bikini or a maillot as much as possible, I suppose that I would be en femme in my own mind 24/7. To make it perfect then maybe the Gods would also throw-in a witty, intelligent, handsome, in-shape gentleman about 6-3 or so who adores me and loves to watch HP and LotR movies as much as I.

On most vacations my wife needs or wants her husband with her most of the time, but we have had a few days and evenings here and there where I've been able to spend my time en femme with her. Last spring I spent most of the week at DLV en femme, with one small break toward the end of the week when I had to give my face a short rest. All mainstream, all the time. Shopping, eating, visiting, shows etc. and it was all good. Flying would involve my bride and so it's unlikely I'll fly pretty.

I am a lawyer, but not a criminal defense or immigration attorney, but here are some curbstone opinions. 1. I think it is a federal offense to present an alias ID at the airport, i.e. one which reflects a different name than your legal name. I assume you have no intent to do that. In any case, any such document would be a forgery which would be a separate criminal offense. 2. It is illegal to own more than one driver's license or official ID in most states/ This has been the law for decades, and is actually in place to stop truck drivers from having commercial DL's in numerous states to avoid license forfeitures due to speeding tickets. 3. It's not illegal to fly dressed as you damn-well-please so long as your ID is correct, even if the photograph doesn't look like you. 4. Just because you have the right to dress as you damn-well-please, the TSA has the right to search your bags and person if they damn-well-please. They don't even have to justify it on the basis that your photo doesn't look like you. 5. Same goes for the customs agents when you re-enter the country after being abroad. 6. If you aleady have a passport, I have no idea how difficult it would be to change the photo on it to reflect your en femme presentation.
