I went to a cancer relay today.
Right in the middle of selling raffle tickets, my aunt comes up to me with a group of her friends and says "We need somebody to dress as a woman to enter the Miss Relay pageant (A drag pageant for charity). Will you do it?"
I agreed, so she took me to Target to pick up some groceries with her, before taking me home to get ready.
She starts talking about how glad she was that I was willing to do this, and I made a decision right then and there to come out to her about my crossdressing.
She looks at me and says, "Okay."
Me: "I was expecting you to say something cruel, and now I'm pleasantly surprised. You're okay with this?"
Her: "Yeah, just don't wear my clothes."

She asked me what my shoe size was, and I said men's 9.
She looks at me, and says, "Well then, we need to head next door to ross for some heels for you."
She let me pick out this beautiful pair of wedges (they were on clearance. $12!).
At check out, I looked at the clerk, put my new shoes on the counter, and said "These are for me, and the heels my aunt has are for her." The clerk smiled, and rang up our shoes.

I shaved my legs when I got home, painted my nails, and got dressed. Left to go back to the relay with my aunt, and she did my makeup when we got there.
I won 4th place out of 6, which isn't that good.

Well, congratulations on your coming out! What a great way to be open about yourself but benefit others while doing it. I wonder if any of the other 6 were CDs!

I already came out to my parents and little brother around 7 months ago, and they were very accepting.
We've been living in my uncle's house, though, and I've been deathly afraid of them finding out about my dressing.
Great? That doesn't even begin to describe it.

4th or 1st it doesn't matter, the fact you took part and had fun,and at the same time found acceptance from a family member is worth a great deal more, well done Tara
