Well, its been just over 1 month since the Employee Of The Year ceremony at work, where I got up on stage, shook hands with the School District Superintendant and accepted my nomination, wearing a white mens shirt, black tie, black pencil skirt, argyl tights and high heels in front of nearly 400 fellow employees.

Congratulations! I don't think they would do anything about you wearing womens clothes, kids in the school district do the same thing. Plus schools don't like lawsuits that could get them in the news. Lol!

That is SO cool and SO brave! People call me brave but I can't hold a candle to the kind of courage you display.

Too True, coincidentally, one of our Special Needs children in our district is exploring his gender, his teachers were having difficulty with terminology when speaking about him, an area I was able to help with. Also I told my district when I hired I was transgendered, and the district non-discrimination policy includes all the standard stuff you would find, plus - " actual or perceived gender or gender expression "

Congratulations!! Since its summer how do you know your still employed? Lol.

I am a odd beast (in many ways) ;) I work for our school district 12 months a year, I don't even get recess periods off.

No recess, no breaks? You need a union.

No recess, no breaks? You need a union.

My department is actually Teamsters 952, but, my positions was specifically created (and agreed to by the teamsters) to be non-union, the Union has the districts hands so tied, on what the district can ask someone in our department to do, it is almost silly. I have no work schedule, I can start as early as 4:30 am, or as late as 12 noon, work 10 straight hours (I work 4 days a week) or do multiple splits, example this last Wednesday, 6am - 9am / 12 noon - 2pm / 3:30pm - 8:30pm. I am not told what time I start work till after 2pm the day before.

I am so impressed. Sometimes the Unions are good, sometimes bad. I am not sure I want to be pigen-holes into one way of thinking. Bless you Intertwined....You have broken ground for us.
