this came up on another forum where someone mentioned wanted gender changes for characters in an online game.

Regardless, someone might want to RP such a thing: you need not understand it or be able to fathom it yourself, but someone might have gone or be going through exactly all the things you have and describe, and they might want to affect that in their RP as a form of expression, or for some other reason. Just because you cannot understand why someone might wish to doesn’t mean you can simply rule it out as a possibility.

So I wondering how many people here would Role-play this in a game going through the exact things you are experiencing yourself right now as a form of expression?

No I did not go the fantasy route. I just did what I had to do and went through transition in real life.

the key part is "as a form of expression"... that's all it would be unfortunately... years ago, all my online characters were dumped and reinvented as female...i didn't think much of it, although i enjoyed making up the characters...i didn't get anything out of it though.. i remember as a youngster playing D&D and reading the description of something they called the "Girdle of masculinity/femininity" So the idea in gaming has been around forever..

but i think you are not well served putting any meaning behind this...just like you wouldn't be well served "learning about yourself" by role playing an idiot, immune to poison, risk taking dwarf thief ---hehe...guess how i spent my late nites in college

Thank you. I didn't think about it. I just seen the statement and thought wow, why would someone go through this again(even as a form of expression). I guess I tend to over think sometimes(that I miss the obvious).
