Earlier this week or they showed a person who cd in a very skimpy outfit on I believe it was Southwest Airline. How do you feel about the outfit. Do you think this person helped or hurt the imaage of cd?

Ive seen this guy before in other articles i think. I think he expresses himself in the way he is comfortable. Even though his attire is very revealing he still manages to be polite and understanding, until that changes i wont see it as being harmful to CD's
On a joking level though, i dont think he should be judged either for bad taste in travel apparel. i mean its a little gross to think id be sitting in a public seat wearing my undies...i mean you dont know who sat there before you.....

Here's the picture (http://www.news.com.au/travel/news/us-airways-lets-man-fly-wearing-womens-underwear/story-e6frfq80-1226080427493#ixzz1Q9gL5awp).
His attire is very inappropriate. This (http://kimberlyhuddle.blogspot.com/) is flying pretty. What he's doing is... Let's just say it gives gray-haired white guys a really bad name.

He was wrong to do that. I don't know what he was trying to prove.

I've alway gone by "when in Rome, do as the Romans" and, "there is a time and place for everthing".
He was not doing as the "Romans" and it certainly was not the time and place for that outfit.

I agree. What that guy did would have been very inappropriate for EITHER gender. In my opinion there are shop venues that cater to that attire, but out in public is not one of them. So if it would give anything but nuetral or possative reactions - to me it's a no go. Our uphill battle is steep enough already.

Appropriate and inappropriate is an opinion here, based on what everyone else does when they fly. Ok apparel choice aside...In society we cover our selves with clothing, Included are what parts of our bodies we clothe to be deemed as "decent" as in "indecent exposure"..... He is covering himself in all those areas.... Although it is not what the rest of us would choose to fly in, he has made the choice to be who he chooses to be, why would we...As crossdressers, mind you....judge another on what style they choose to wear, its poetically hypocritical.
Look at the smile on his face.....Hes living HIS dream.... why would we not support him?....as crossdressers ourselves... i mean have a little compassion at least

Oh I feel sorry for him. I understand. But at the end of the day, that's no way to fly.

Can anyone else remember, when you had to basically dress up, in Sunday best, to fly? I remember that, flying standby, a sportcoat, nice shirt and pants and nice shoes were recommended! This was totally inappropriate. It does give CD's a bad name! It just shows how standards have been going down the tubes in western nations. It just is not common sense to fly in either sex's underwear like that. He needs to wear a dress or skirt., or pants., Or shorts!

Would I do it? Never in a million years. If he's not breaking the law, what does it matter to me? Some interesting responses given how often you see it posted about challenging social norms with regards to what anyone chooses to wear.

Hes not being indecent or harmful hes just practicing bad taste, which we really shouldnt judge him for anyhow. To pull somthing like that off you would have to be as passive, polite and sincere as possible...otherwise they would have denied him his flight
Like the beligerent man who was thrown off the plane in the original story.....Id rather have the passive crossdresser with poor taste on the plane with me than a defiant angry non-crossdresser...
In fact i would probably interview the hell out of him about his social interactions among people in the public. Social individuality is a fascinating subject....from tattoos to crossdressing to body modification (from tribal to Plastic surgery)..the list goes on...all of them seeking social individuality by changing their appearances so that they may better accept themselves or express who they are. It is our nature.

Why shouldn't I judge him? You just said that he's practicing bad taste. That's just a different way of saying what I said: It was inappropriate.
Actually, your way of saying it is a bit more harsh. All I'm saying is that it's not the proper way to dress when taking a flight. If he were out at the club, I'd say "Whatever floats your boat." I've seen women at the club wearing a lot less. If I were at the airport counter, though, and he walked up and sweetly asked for a ticket, I would very sweetly reply: "You forgot your dress, hon. You go put it on while I get you your ticket."

He struck me as more of an exhibitionist than a genuine TG.

Do you think this person helped or hurt the image of cd?Not sure if it hurt our image or not, but IMHO this guy didn't do us any favors. A lot of people already don't understand what we do, all this did was help cloud the issue of people's understanding (IMO). I agree with Violet above, I think he's more of a exhibitionist because he knew that wearing that outfit like that, people are gonna stare, CD or not.

The question is would you want to sit next to him on the plane. I would not. His outfit is in bad taste.

I get the feeling a trip through the body scanner might reveal some publicity agendas hiding someplace...lol
That's getting pretty close to the standard Hollywood desperado strategy of trying to bring your name back into the recognition light with noteworthy rumors and bogus crisis stories...pregnancy,affairs,rehab, etc (rather than through impressive acting ability). Free publicity is always a welcome addition to the P&L statement, lol.
I would bet that a background check on this guy would show there is a little more to this story than what is being presented. If this was genuine I would love to see how his employer views this.
I also would hope that the typical well-adjusted person would judge this piece of work on an individual basis, rather than jump to the assumption that he is an accurate portrayal of a typical CD.
Further proof that you do not need to join a circus to be a clown...:heehee:
I can't help wondering how proud this guy's family will be...
I'm sure he has a very nice personality...

The attire was inappropriate for anyone on an airplane, male or female. Cross-dressing shouldn't even be part of the story so no, I do not think it should reflect badly on crossdressers, but it does reflect badly on people with poor taste and poorer judgement

I don't consider him a crossdresser -- just someone with poor taste, judgment, values, -- maybe he lost a bet !! If I were on the same flight I would not be offended as a crossdresser - just chagrinned of his presents on the same flight !!!.................Debra
