My original DR was both a Psych and a DO so she was able to do both aspects of therapy and hormone therapy, but she has since moved on back to her original home after recieving her 3rd Doctorate and Certification so i lost both my psychiatrist and my prescribing DR all in one swift motion... as of now not only has my existing prescritions ran out.. but i have no idea what to do... where to go and my biggest worry is that i will have to start over s far as the time in therapy to regain the psych letter necessary for any other DR to prescribe again...
when my dr moved it was unexpected and i didnt get a chance to follow up with her before she left... so im definately lost.. and im going insane...... a little help... plz..

Did you get a referral letter about your treatments & ask the Dr if there was anyone they could have recommended?
if not these are some things I would be chasing up.

well being she moved between my appointments i had scheduled at the time when i returned for a folowup all she left instructions for the next dr in the chart ive seen so far (not much admitedly) was what to request for blood work and a refill order if things looked fine... since then ive lost income, lost insurance, got a divorce and cnnot really afford to continue care at the office i had been going to so basiclly i got a whole bunch of things stacked against me to continue and im a bit... ok alot.. lost and confused..

I know it must feel awful to be in that situation. Personally I am going through a gender centre.
Anyway I know you are lost & confused, but we have to start somewhere, maybe try contacting
the office & put a request in for that referral letter & any other recommended doctors you can go to.

Nikkijo your finical woes aside, If you have been full time and On hormones for some time now I really don't see you having any problem finding a therapist who will take you seriously. I know many girls who had very little formal therapy but were able to get letters for hormones and surgery simply by going in and saying "heres the deal" and then explaining their situations. Most therapist just want to know you are serious and you have thought about the consequences. If you are already living those consequences there isn't much to argue about!

Nikki,
Last year I had just come out to my family doctor and then my work changed health insurance company. So I came out to my new doctor , how sent me to a endocrinologist, how sent me to a psychologist. Long chain of events. LOL. Well after two visits and telling her that I already have been living full time for the last two years, she sent me back to the endocrinologist for HRT and asked me if I needed her for anything else just made a appointment. I know where you live it maybe hard to find a transgendered health center, but maybe you could go into Portland or some other larger city that has a LTGB community.
Best Wishes

stumptown is slang for portland.... from the early 1900's when logging was big and the willamette river was use as a log pond.
income.... personal income ha ha... starting a business... yea like that happens in the first 5 years.... so sliding scale is a must.... id be lucky if i get spare 5 bucks to play with... ah the joys of self employment.
trust me when i find a solution to my present problem its gunna be a short and sweet deal.... because im honestly about to go insane..
ive got a few names but all have been dead ends due to scheduals and timing or fees... one therpist i called was only open 10-12, 230-5 3 days a week.. yea like that will fit my 7 am to 10 pm 6 day a week if im lucky.... more like 21 hrs a day.. 7 days a week.. ...
oh well.. atleast while things were werking out with an awesome doc, steady income and insurnce coverge i managed to get a few noticable benifits that keep me from losing all hope..

Wow... That really sounds like a very irresponsible individual. To me it would seem that she has a responsibility to you and the rest of her clients to help them ensure that they have the information they need to continue to recive the care they need.
However, since the deed is done if there is anyway to contact your doctor at her new location try to get copies of your patient records so that you can give them to your new doctors. That way they know what has been done and you are not starting from square one. Sadly you will be starting over to some degree because if you get 12 doctors in a room you will likely get 12 different treatments to the same smyptoms.

Over half is my fault for not catching her before she left and asking her to keep records to a minimum because the ex wife knew how to access my medical visit notes thru my online chart access. and its also my fault for notfinding a replacement insurance policy to keep affording care at same hospital... but id rather eat than not and have insurance i used 4 timeza year (small businezs owner )and 300.00 avvisit 4 times a yearvversus 465 a mo was a no brainer for the budget
