Hello Ladies:

When I was in my teens and started crossdressing more and more frequently, one thing I had to do was to choose a name. At first I didn’t know what to call myself, I went by Anne, Susan, Jennifer, Jeanette, Stephanie, etc… and some of these names were suggestions from my friends.
It just didn’t say who I am and what I want to be.
One day I just sat down and took stock of myself. What kind of personality am I when I’m dressed up? Do I want to be myself or the opposite of who I am now, those sort of things.

I kept asking the person in the mirror “who are you?”

Some time later (not in the same day, months after), I went to an employment agency to look for a job for my female side. I had an appointment to see one of their councilors for them to look at my resume and to test me to see what I can do. Before I went there I stopped by my salon to have my hair and makeup and nails done. My hairdresser suggested that I go by the name she picked for me “Jazz” I thought “JAZZ???” it maybe a good name for a musician or a nightclub owner but for a professional woman I didn’t think so.

I went to my appointment and I looked very professional. I had worn my green two piece dress with a plunging neckline with the right amount of jewelry, very basic. I took and filled out their application and was stuck with name. I made the appointment under my male name but I didn’t want to be called by it. I was staying with my last name but the first had to go. They took my application and forwarded it to the councilor I was supposed to meet. She came out and started to interview me. I explained my situation and she asked me what do I want to be called? All of a sudden I blurted out ANDREA. The next thing she said was “alright Andrea, follow me and we can begin the test”. O my God!! It sounded right. This is my name. It was also the name of my favorite aunt. When I was younger she used to take care of me when I came home from school. My parents worked most of the time but she was always there for me. Some of my family members had said that I resembled her a lot, and I guess it just stuck.

My aunt is no longer with us but I would like to think that I can be like her in so many ways.
And that is how I chose my name.

So, how did you any of you choose your names?
Any similar situations, because it just can’t be random?

 Kisses ;)

Andrea.

I picked my name from the first girl I met when i moved to San Francisco. She lived downstairs from me and was ever so pretty and we went out a few times and even had sex. She wanted someone more conservative and a better earner than me, always calling me a hippie (her parents were hippies and she was rebelling) and she probably married an architect (she had dated an architect named after the most famous Greek architect of antiquity). I love the fact that you apparently live full-time as a girl and, if this is true, I give you my full respect. The name reflects my first initial and she was a nice person and I would love to look like her. Anyway, write if you like, love, Carolyn

I've told this here before, but my name comes from a deep love, admiration, and respect for Madonna as an entertainer, artist, and woman, and an iconic interest and lust for the forever young candle in the wind, Miss Marilyn Monroe...

Madonna's friends call her Madge or Maddy, and Marilyn...well, she'll always be Marilyn. :)

Madilyn comes from the "Mad" of Madonna and the "ilyn" of Marilyn...it's just always suited me...

Although my story isn't as exciting, and it doesn't really have anyback story. I'll explain where I found Faye.

Just weeks ago, I didn't even go by a second name. I didn't think I really needed one. That was when I found this site, and how everyone here, left right and center were obviously using much more Femme names. Sure, I could've stuck with my boy name (Tony), it could be used for a femme name. But I thought, I might as well start thinking of a name I would like to be called by. I sat in front of my computer for a couple of hours just brainstorming names I thought I liked. After a ton of ideas, which I really didn't like, I stopped and went to watch some Anime (I'm a big anime geek). The anime I was watching was Cowboy Bebop, and a female character (and very sexy one at that) named Faye was in it. Seeming how this was one of my favorite animes out there, and how great Faye looked (yes, she's a cartoon, and she's still beautiful :p) I went with it. She sort of has the same attitude and characteristics as myself as well (well sort of). I just fit, and I really didn't want a really generic name ;p.

I could also add in that another source would be from the movie, The Killing. One of the characters that was married to one of the guys linked in the hiest scheme was named Faye.

I chose my name (Rachel) because of a girl I knew in high school. She was a strong person, had a bold personality, and was sexy, and if I could be a real GG, id wanna be something like her. I guess it comes from admiration of her, although I admire and respect all women. :)

Faye Valentine, yeah I know her! That's a great series.

That's a great story and a good question Andrea. My story is probably a little different. Ever since I've been online, I've used female aliases for reasons I didn't really understand at the time. I am a creative person and love fiction, games, and roleplaying, so I've had many female alter egos with various levels of closeness to my own self. That kind of anima image, you could say.

So I've used many feminine names, but when I started to be feminine in the real world, I chose Sonya somewhat out of the blue, but I liked it and it fit and I am staying with it.

See you later space cowboy;)

If it weren't for the fact I didn't want a Japanese name, I would've picked Mitsuki (Dual parallel adventure - Rara, of course). As it worked out I got sick of trying to think of a fitting name, so I checked baby names online and here I am. Not too creative or personal but very pretty

I went by my male name most of my dressing life. This name is rather new.

It's Amelie from the movie of the same name. When I saw the movie I thought Audrey Tautou was so pretty. Although the movie is not about CDs, the movie had a great impact on me.

Laveau-The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. I have a dark side, not just goth but a dark side to my personality.

Thanks all for letting me know.
by the way. the employment agency never called me back. They missed a good thing.

PS. By the way carolynhcd, I do and I don't live as a girl full time, I wish I did though. From 9-5 I work as a boy. because I have to pay the bills. In the other times, I live as a girl and occasionaly dress up as one when I go out.

I guess I'm my mothers daughter. she didn't go out as much either.

My story is pretty much the same. There was a girl named Sara that I knew in high school and if I were a GG I would want to be her. Just so pretty and so girly. :p

Like so many of us I struggled to find a name that I liked. I've always preferred less popular female names such as, Lorelei, Gweneviere, ect. I finally decided on Lawren for simplicity and anonymity. I used Lawren for the first time when I special ordered some sexy lingerie from a catalog. It's actually just a short form of my boy name, Lawrence, and that gives me "plausible deniability" if questioned.:)

I used to go by the name "Rennea" After my "First girlfriend" From back when my Momma "dressed me up" for Halloween, ( See my story...If my Momma only knew what one innocent little Halloween costume could do to her little boy ) But after years of denial (sp?) And keeping my female side tucked safely away ( From even myself... for the most part ) And after a life changing divorce...They all are, Right?? Anyway.. I met a GG about three years ago and we started getting serious ( Still living as a "man" 100% ) And she asked me my deepest darkest secret, So I told her I used to "dress-up" One thing lead to another and the next thing I knew she was planning to "make me into a passible woman" to make a long story short(er) She came up with the name! Vici She Said; Short for Victoria.( Maybe I'll post that entire story later. ) She is the best, By the way send "warm" thoughts my way...We may be breaking up, Anyway I'll always be greatfull to her for letting that little girl trapped inside of me out, And I'm honored to bear the name Vici :)

I didn't have a femm name until I registered with this site. I chose Nicola as it's the name of a very sexy GG friend of mine who I often fantasize being with. Since I gave myself a femm name I have found that it really brings out the women in me, especially when I dress - Nicola seems to suit me so well when I'm lounging at home it stockings and suspenders!
