Hi, Just wondering if anyone can tell me the effect HRT has on body hair - I have read somewhere it does indeed effect it, but I was wondering how much and what sort of time frame. Thanks,

Nothing noticeable for me. Laser and electrolysis were the only things that had an effect on my body hair. Even post-op, all the hair that was left is still there. But YMMV. It does have an effect on some people.

It does make my body hair slightly thinner and slower growing, although not by much. This is actually one of the earlier things to take effect in my experience.

My experience, since being on HRT for six months has been the lose of all my body hair. I do have lighter and finer hair. But nothing like what I had as a male.

I am jealous, Renee! If only i could be so lucky! My hair growth has slowed a bit after 7 mos E and 3 wks anti T, but shaving is still a reality for me. I do need to give the spiro a bit more time before a draw firm conclusions,
On the other hand, laser and electrolysis are working wonders!

Hi Alisa
I’m not TS and I’m not on HRT, damn. But I do have BPH and I have been on Finasteride for nearly two years. I have lost the hair on my back underarms, and legs, and the hair on my arms has gotten much finer. My right leg is completely devoid of hair and my left leg has only some hair in patches – which I shave to avoid looking like some weird Chinese semi-hairless dog.
To be honest the loss of hair on my legs might be partially due to my being a Type II diabetic and/or age (I’m 68 today). My Doctor says that Diabetes can affect the nerves and small blood vessels in the lower legs and that could be contributing to the hair loss.
When I started on Finasteride, a type of T-blocker, I was told that I might develop breasts, that didn’t happen at least to the degree I would have liked. I am however happy with the hair loss as my Wife was none to happy with my shaving my legs and underarms. Lately I’ve notice thinning of the hair on my torso as well. My only regret is that this didn’t happen forty years ago – the loss of hair, not the Diabetes and BPH.
I guess my point is that HRT, hormones in general, affect different people differently.

Thanks for all the replies - I think by the sounds of it it is a case of wait and see... I dont think that laser on my chest and back will be that cheap though if it comes to it :)
Thanks again,
Lisa.
