I find epilators are a bit hit and miss but I still use one as my promary method of keeping that pesky hair at bay.

The reason I say hit and miss is that very rarely can I get every single hair with it so although i still find myself needing to shave every now and then the time between is very much reduced.

As for pain ..... well i'm not going to lie to you it can get uncomfortable if you're not used to it  . You don't say if you currently shave or not so i shall assume you do not. If that's the case i would recommend that you shave first and then let the stubble grow out a little bit instead of tackling long hair with it.

I use a Braun Soft Perfection Epilator (that's the pink one to you and me ;) ). At first I did need to use all the little attachments that came with it to help make it bearable but now I don't bother and just use it straight and my little leggiesas i find it works much better that way.

Anyway , hope that's of some help to you and wish you the best of luck  .

A lot of people have said the Braun is the best, and that's the one I'm gonna get when I have some 'mad money' to spend...:D

I've got 2 of these things, neither of which I've used on my legs (yet). An Epilady, Legend and an Emjoi, Optimax. The Epilady had a single head, the Emjoi had two counter-rotating heads. I've only used these on my chest, stomach and below (really ouch).
The Epilady had a better overall.. Uh.. lawnmower effect on chest hairs. The Emjoi took more passes.
On the otherhand, the Emjoi did a much better job on my armpits. I think it's because of the counter-rotating heads helped to keep the skin a little tighter.
I expect because leg hairs are a bit finer that chest hairs, either will do a decent job. Just as soon as cutoffs season is over and I start wearing long pants all the time.. I'll let you know.

The only time I used an epilator was to go from "Lingerie" on the first floor to "Gowns/Evening Wear" on the second floor.

(sorry, i couldn't resist)

I have no idea which is best. Too expensive to buy and experiment. I have the Braun, one of the current two Braun versions. I don't remember which. but I like it. Cost me $59.95 USA dollars, sale from $89.95. I listed it in another post recently. Do a search for "epilator."

I really like it. It doesn't get the really fine hairs and the coarse ones sometimes break rather than pull. The resu;ts however are amazingy smooth skin after several days use.

careful, I used an epilator (braun) for a long time and couldn't say enough great things about it on this forum. I'm now just shaving and nursing all the ingrown hairs on my body which will take years to clear up probably. Apparantly they work great for a while but start to damage the hair roots so they start growing into the skin. This doesn't happen to everyone I suppose, but it happened to me and I stopped using mine way too late. If you do get 1 make sure you go slowly and exfoliate like crazy.
