I had my first Councillor meeting, to say I was worried before was an understatement but the worry was for nothing as it all went well.. and to top it off he is a FtoM transsexual... so he knew right from the start what I was going through.. I will be seeing him again in September, and I am now looking forward to it..... at last I feel like things are starting to move forward... :)

Congrats Karla!
Though you stole my limelight! ;) I had signed on to actually announce the same! Though mine was the interview before the actual counseling and as you said, as excited as I was... I was equally worried if not more so! During my initial contact to make the appt. they assured me counseling was available in english. Well as soon as I walked thru the door I was introduced to my translator, (aargh!) then we went into an office and there sat another person (aargh aargh)...
All in all it went really well, it was suppose to be a 1/2 hr appt and it lasted 1 1/2, I was glad I put the extra money in the meter! So now my waiting game begins for my 1st official counseling meeting... tic tic tic

Aww sorry :) all the worry I feel now was silly, I think I have been lucky to find the councillor I have... yes it is going to cost me an arm and a leg but it is going to be worth it in the end... my next one is in 3 weeks and I will be having them every 2 weeks I think. I do hope all goes well for you hun..

Congrats Karla & Dana.
Going for that first meeting with your new councilor can be nerve wracking. As you both found out it isn't near as bad as you thought and everyone involved understands. I hope you both are able to sort it all out and make the best decisions for yourselves.

No worries! I actually thought afterwards I should have made a separate thread as to not spoil your limelight! It was a very big step for both of us today, shall we share a virtual toast? It will be interesting to see how our treatments progress, if similar or total different paths. I'm sure they will differ in some ways, that is the one thing about our situation is there is so many variations (and interpretations) of each individual.
Now for that toast!
May our chosen path bring us happiness and understanding from those around us and especially the ones we hold dear!
CHEERS!

Congrats on your first Councillor session. It can be frightening before you go in but once the feelings start to come out, it is cathartic. Over time, you will begin to really feel good about who you truly are.

I have been seeing a counselor for over 2 months now. In that time I have had 4 appointments and each time it gets more relaxed and I am truly finding out/confirming who I really am. It was the best decision of my life and I am sure that both of you ladies who have started this journey will find out the same. Happy journeying!

I have had my first introductory meeting with my counselor this week and are scheduled for my first full session on Sept 1st. I was very relaxed going in and knowing that one of their specialty is working with trans help me to stay calm and relaxed. Looking forward to our first real session. Hug to all.
