I broke the #1 rule of breast forms  and now have ruined mine by sleeping in them. :bonk: At first I was just lazy or forgot to take them out at night, then I got used to wearing them and always wore them to bed. Now there is a split in the silicone in one and a large air bubble  I am so mad at myself for letting this happen. The only good part about it is my wife suggested I buy a new pair, which she told me a few years ago I would not be replacing them. I'm definitely going to get a foam sleep pair to go with them this time

Splits can happen even if you don't sleep wearing them.
I usually have to replace mine every two years.

Rules? I've slept in mine a lot and never had an issue! Just put a band-aid on it like any other booboo! Lol.

I sleep with mine. They started leaking just sitting in a drawer, during a lull in my dressing. So bought new ones and sleep with them. Figure they are expendable.

you can use rtv silicone to repair them have used it many times and it works. The ones I repaired I use to sleep in while my good ones I keep for every day wear

I've slept in mine quite often. My guess it was just normal fatigue in the material and it happened to fail at night. But, get those new forms anyway. Your wife seems to have changed her mind on the subject!

The only time I take mine off is to shower or switch bras. I have been wearing these 24/7 for about 10 months now and no problems yet.

Theres an easy repair if you wanna give it a go , at least it may save the form for use with a bra . I've used a clear vinyl repair patch used for swimming pools ( don't laugh ) air beds , or tents . I brought it from ebay - it's the only thing thats stuck really . Item number : 360387353820.
Forms are a delicate issue , a zip , nail , even a ring can cause tears in the outer membrane .
On the subject of new ones , I've read about forms called Pals that are supposed to be very strong . The only downside is that they don't adhere to the body too well .
As soon as I'm earning again , I think I'll be ordering a pair .

I've slept in mine many times without an issue. One pair I've glued on and wore them for 3 days without issue. I think a lot has to do with the quality of the forms themself.

To solid silicone forms, with no outer plastic cover to split or leak!:)

And, I can sleep with them and NOT get rashes and blisters the plastic covered forms always give me!:D

They cost more, but with proper care they'll last forever. I've found U can easily patch small tears if you're too rough with them also!

I have had them for about seven years now, guess I got some good wear out of them. I just wish I could afford a better pair

If you opt to try and repair your forms, keep in mind that they may be "silicone" forms, but that is just a reference to the silicone gel filler. The forms usually have a "casing" to enclose that gel, which is typically polyurethane or similar material. So you are patching polyurethane, not silicone. Whatever "Internet" DIY method you decide to believe works, try to avoid contaminating the gel filling, as it can become a petri-dish for growth of mold and bacteria. Same is true if you do not get a complete seal on your repair job.

I am going to have to look into these silicones you mention Sherry. I have been using the traditional soft gel covered silicones for many years now and do occasionally get rashes when they've been on too long.

I sleep in mine a lot - I love the feeling of waking up with them! It changes things! In fact they on more and more these days. Only time they aren't is when I with other people and presenting in drab.

The pair I have now were in fact my first ever silicone forms (10 years or so ago) and are teardrops. I thought they were too big and have had three others, triangles and asymmetricals. The others have all split at some stage and were Breastfformstore sourced. Ironically I sleep in my current forms more than I ever did in the others and have probably treated them more harshly over the years - lots of travelling! I paid a lot more for the ones that have outlasted the others... money well spent I think! So the moral is...?

the tear is actually in the silicone not the casing, there is a small hole somewhere on the back letting air in causing a bubble on the front. I managed to get the bubble out, and just may keep wearing them while I save up for another pair.

Ditto with Karren...I sleep in mine nearly every night and have for about 3 years. I've had no issues with them and they are good as new. You just have to remember not to sleep on your stomach or directly on the forms. The only reason I have had to replace mine in the last 7 years is because I was less than diligent about removing the Hollister's adhesive after each use and the buildup made them hard and brittle. Now I wear self-adhering forms by Amoena and don't have that issue. It's just so nice to wake up in the morning and feel them there...
