We had my wife Jackie's Second Annual 50th Birthday Bash this past saturday night. She and I had gotten new pedicures the friday before and I had just shaved my legs saturday afternoon so I was ready! I wore my white Levi's stretch denim shorts with 5" inseam, a silky black shirt, paisly "do-rag", Earth Shoe girl sandals and my loop earring. We had about 50 people over and after 6 or 7 Dos Equis, I just had to point out my legs! Oh, that good ol' liquid courage. It was great!! People were asking why I shaved them; if I shaved my chest; what kind of razor I used, etc. I told them that I shaved them because I liked how they felt and looked and yes, I shaved everywhere! If people didn't like it, I said I just could care less! One women asked to feel them, then offerred hers to feel and compare. I asked her husband if he's like to feel mine. He laughed and just shook his head. It was a great party. It felt so good to finally be so open about it. Some of them probably left with a whole new impression of me but that's cool by me. There were NO negative comment; not seriously anyway...one woman's husband kept saying, " man, you are crazy". I kept encouraging him and his wife to give it a try. lol He was even drunker than me.

I had to show off the new pedicure as well, and mention those sandals too. I guess it was kind of a small "coming out" in front of a bunch of very close friends. A big step for me at least. Later, Olivia

btw: final tally for me was 12 Dos Equis! A new record-it's fortunate that I don't like beer. If I'd been drinking my regular party fare-Wild Turkey 101, then I might've shown my tangas as well as my ass!!!

I'm so glad to hear you had a good time and that your mini-outing went down so well. That dutch courage can work wonders can't it ;)

Sounds like you had a great time. Plus they won't be too shocked if you come all the way out sometime.

Hugs

The part that makes me wonder, is how many 50th Bday parties can one have.
Oh, glad you had a great time.

It's very cool that you were able to be so open about yourself at the party, and that your friends were so cool also, Olivia. I have a feeling, though, that you just used the excuse of the dozen (!!) beers to "test the waters," especially since your recollection of the night's events remain so clear in your mind. All the more reason to be proud oy yourself.:)

Well, I had three 50th Birthday parties in one week last month, enough to last me a lifetime.:D

Haha Tammi, believe it or not, I wrote it stone cold sober!
Billijo, I guess that depends on long one can keep having birthdays girl! The road goes on forever, and the party never ends! (w/ apologies to Robert Earl Keen)

Yeah, Jackie had a blast too. Both our kids were there too. Ann is 25 and Carson is 23; it was so much fun to see them having a good time with both our friends and some of theirs as well. Sunday, I was the only one who wasn't one of the "walking wounded". LOL, I guess maybe they had too much fun, huh? Anyway, it was really a night to remember (or try to, it seems, lol)!!

Thanks so much girls for all your kind words! I love ya'll! O
