I think that it would be the perfect opportunity to dress and get out. I would like to think that they would be very accepting of you being you.

No the people at the party will not be the least bit offended if you dress. I've been to several gay hang outs dressed en femme (so far as I could tell I was the only CDr there on each occassion. I had a great time and honestly, if anyone was offended, they certainly didn't say anything to me. And for the record, no guys hit on me - the onlly people who seemed attracted to me were women.

Offended? ......Nah.

Enjoy!
if no one enjoys what you did, drop by any mainstream place with your wife, and you will be a hit with everybody. Central Massachusetts? Come down to Providence, if you like.

There you have it, and I agree. Your wife suggested it, it's a perfect occasion and a near perfect group of people. Go for it.

I used to think I was really good at hiding my feminine side. I studied acting for 7 years to be able to hide the femininity, and yet I really wasn't fooling anyone. Many were frustrated that I wouldn't come out, that I was still in denial, even to the point of turning to drugs, alcohol, and suicide, because I was so afraid of the consequences of being discovered.

I'd constantly set off the gaydar of both gay men and gay friendly women, who quickly realized that I was attracted to women, and wasn't actually gay. It didn't take a PhD to figure out that I might be so feminine because I was transgendered. Of course, the term transgendered wasn't widely used until 1985, and I was getting misread in the 1960's and 1970s.

If this is a GLBT community, there is a very good chance that you will be introduced to other TGs, TSs, and TVs who share your interests, as well as some drag queens who can give you some great tips on how to improve your presentation.

Not only should you go, but you should ask your wife how she wants to go, and give her the option of going as a guy or a girl.

Congratulations on having such a supportive wife. It sounds like this is a golden opportunity.

Halloween is one of the great excuses for letting it all hang out even if were an otherwise vanilla party instead of a Gay , usually quite open minded group.

Gay people are just like anyone else. They want to be who they are.

Go and have a great time. It's your opportunity to be you. Why not see what reactions you get. You might be pleasantly surprised by the kind of attention you receive and how it makes you feel.

Why should anyone be offended? After all, it is a Halloween party!

It's not likely they will, but if anyone is, then just say, "This is the real me."
