And I have result to report.

Inspired by a thread titled three months on HRT...I decided to report my results after a mere three days on Hormones.

No I don't have any tenderness, or anything truly remarkable to report....well not remarkable in the sense that there are any physical changes...yet.

But since the first night and my first dose....I have accomplished something that I havent done in years....I slept....I slept all through the night without waking up and for nearly eight hours each night.

this in and of itself is a huge result for me as my nightly routine has become...bed at 11-11:30 p.m. If I am lucky I would actually be asleep by midnight...up by 2:00 a.m. back to sleep in 20 or 30 minutes....up again around 3:30 a.m. to either go to the bathroom or just lie there eyes wide open for another 20-30 minutes pondering all those wht if's and what could be's.

back to sleep and up for the day between 4:30-5:00 a.m. with a 6:00 a.m. wake up being a rarity and considered sleeping in....then being sleepy but not able to go to sleep around 12:00 or 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon.

I have always felt good with 6-hours of sleep a night followed by a short 45 minute or so power nap in the afternoon...it seems to suit me well....that just hasn't seemed attainable for many years.

So I am chalking up the last three restful nights sleep as a certifiable result for me and considering it a sign that I am on the right path way....Yes I realize it is much to early in the process but I am taking my victories as I find them.

Soon three days becomes three months then a year before you know it.
When I started HRT my first feeling was excitment and happiness on making such a big step that I had wanted my whole life.

transition can be tough but you should try to enjoy the moments you can.

that's great news Wendy... to me progress is progress...and that's what you are looking for..

the mental changes of HRT are ultimately more vital to your progress than physical..(despite how much fun the physical changes are if they happen)

Thanks all for the comments...

Kaitlyn....For the weeks that led up to my beginning HRT every therapy session and then even the physician who finally handed me that piece of paper eventually led to the same question....

What do you hope to gain from starting HRT...?

I answered as honestly as I could and stated emphatically each and every time....Peace of Mind.

Great to hear your having happy side effects!
It only took me about a week to notice the difference in libido.
So far I love the effects hormones have had on me. It's been 7 months

I know its only day six as of today and may be too early to be experiencing any real change but I swear my face is far less oily and my make up hasn't given me that oily shine through nearly as fast these last couple of days. just my imagination and wishful thinking? Can't really say...but I'm a sayin.

I have to say, the first post about sleeping brought a tear to my eye (in a good way) - Really happy for you :)

Alisa,
Thank You and I can report that I am still sleeping through the night and waking up feeling more rested than ever.

Hi Wendy, I'm glad to hear you are getting some restful sleep at night and are you feeling any calmness (overall) just asking.

The same thing happened to me & I started sleeping a lot when I went on hormones,
which I found amazing because I suffered really badly from insomnia before this. Now
you might understand why women need their sleep so much - I think it is all related
to the hormones now ;)

I still have some of the same ups and downs at this point but just knowing that I have taken a real step does seem to make it easier for me to deal with those stressful times I have experienced this past week which in the past would have most likely have driven me to go into a introverted state of mind.

Melody...I too had bouts with insomnia over a long period of time....the amazing thing to me is that my sleep is now relegated to night time and having gotten the restful sleep at night, I don't feel the need to nap in the daytime.
