I used to travel down in the Ozarks, and one time I stayed in a tourist town in Arkansas and it was real quiet. Hardly anyone around. I commented about it to a waitress regarding how slow it was, and she commented back something about "the week the crossdressers meet here". I was not interested enough at the time to ask for any more information. Anyone know what town, or what the event is?

It might be Eureka Springs....they had a spring and fall event there at one time, they still may be having it. I'm sure a google search could give you the answer.

It is Eureka Springs...they are very LGBT friendly and do host several events a year....funny that while I only live a little over an hour away...I have never visited this community for the purpose of attending any of these events...a missed oppurtunity I shall have to remedy.

Look them up on line, if you where at Eureka springs you will recognize main street, but it's the only large gathering I've heard of in Arkansas. I've wanted to go, every since I heard about it, and looked them up. It looks like a very pretty town, and it sounded like they got out to some of the tourist sites around there, as part of the event.

Eureka Springs is unusual among Arkansas towns. It is the only AR town with a Domestic Partner registry, an active LGBTQ community and lacking much of the provincialism that is common in many small towns. Much of Eureka Springs is populated by people that are only first and second generation residents.
There used to be annual CD event (Eureka En Femme Getaway) but it no longer exists. However it is common for CD's to visit Eureka Springs in the fall especially during the Fall Diversity Weekend. I've been going to Eureka for several years and enjoy it.

I could never afford to attend the Enfemme Getaway. But I and a couple other gurls have gone down there to just be there amongst the registered Ladies.
