Yesterday in the kitchen I walked in back of my SO and she said I sounded and looked (periferally) like our neighbor, Mary. She said I dressed similarly and was moving as stiffly (both 60's). I was wearing crop jeans, a tank top with a camp shirt over the top plus flip flops.
I thought it was a funny comment, not insulting or strange, just entertaining.
So, last night I showered, powdered and put on the LBD with snake skin heels. pearls, the works. (It was a chore putting on pantyhose after the summer off.) SO said I had 'dressed for dinner'. I wish I had offered to take her out but I was way over dressed for So Cal on a hot summer evening.
