Hi all.

I'm a new 'lurker' here. Just started reading the posts on this site. I'm up to page 16. I usually just purused the 'TGBoards' with a rare post or two.

Anyway, there is something I'm interested in that I haven't thoroughly seen addressed, although it has been mentioned by and by, (Or perhaps I haven't yet gotten to the right page.) It is a question for those who wear woman's outer-clothing (over-clothing?) at work.

To those who wear woman's outer-clothing clothing at work;
1) What garments do you wear? (Side zip slacks, Dresses, Heels, etc?)
2) Are you 'out'?
3) Do you groom yourself as a woman? (Hairstyle, makeup, etc?)
4) What kind of work do you do?
5) How do you present? (Butch Dyke, Androgynous, Feminine male (read soccer mom), Effeminate male (read sissy), Female, Macho truck driver, etc.?)
6) How do your co-workers treat you?
7) How do your supervisors treat you?
8) How many public/customer interactions do you have?
9) What is the public's response?
10) There is no #10.

Example answer; 'I wear long evening gowns and opera gloves. I'm not out. I'm a jockey. I look like Audrey Hepburn. My coworkers like to watch me dress in the locker room. The owners don't care what I wear as long as I win. Etc.

While this answer above is lighthearted, The question is not. I'm looking to find out what works for others to help me navigate what might work for me. Please feel free to add or discuss what ever else you like.

Yours,
vini

9) What is the public's response?

What they don't know, won't hurt me.

Too bad, I'm on a roll:)

This wasn't what you were expecting, but it's what I do.:p

1) What garments do you wear? (Side zip slacks, Dresses, Heels, etc?)
I have worn girls jeans to work (mostly on Fridays), I wear androgynous womens loafers every day, and I just bought some nice women's slacks that I plan to wear once I find something in my closet that goes with brown pants.

2) Are you 'out'?
No, just to you all and my GF

3) Do you groom yourself as a woman? (Hairstyle, makeup, etc?)
I keep my eyebrows shaped - very in-between male and female, and I usually keep my fingernails longish with clear, non-shiny nail polish

4) What kind of work do you do?
Software engineering

5) How do you present? (Butch Dyke, Androgynous, Feminine male (read soccer mom), Effeminate male (read sissy), Female, Macho truck driver, etc.?)

6) How do your co-workers treat you?

7) How do your supervisors treat you?

8) How many public/customer interactions do you have?
They don't let us software people talk to customers. Seriously though, I don't deal with the customer much but I see them in meetings.

9) What is the public's response?
Like I'm an average male
