Another thread (Non-Profit organization-Need thoughts), has tried to address the issue of TS support within different categories, than sustenance, but this appears to be a recurring concern among some TS, judging from this forum.

It is hard to respond to this need across international borders, but perhaps local TS support groups might take up this issue, and for example, start a food program, maybe even a simple food cupboard.

Another need was perceived by a local group here, and that was a freezer program, by which a TS immediately after SRS would be provided with a loan of a freezer filled with frozen food to sustain them during that problematic period of their transition. It was a popular cause for fund-raising at meetings, if I remember correctly.

What do others think of this issue?

I love this idea, it's wonderful! :)

Too many people recovering from major surgery without family don't have support like this... and there's nothing nicer than having good food made/given to you by someone who cares that you don't have to work super hard at making yourself.

To futher this idea along, after the TS gets back on her feet how about it be one of the provisions of the program to donate like items/provisions to the program for the net girl having surgery or better yet how about putting these items in an account for her surgery in the furture. I think this program would have to work both ways because of the fiancial status at the time of each girl would be different. This would not exclude indivuals donating "stuff" as they feel the need. This idea will need more thought but that is the gist of it.
