The women who cuts my hair is a friend of more than thirty years. She has seen my toes painted and she has seen me wearing forms. i want to ask her to start femminizing my hair but I'm a little nervous about it. Any advice?

Instead of telling her aloud, why don't you show her a picture? Ask her, "Can you start styling my hair to look more like this?"

You might just ask her, "what could we do with my hair if I let it grow out a bit"?

People in the beauty industry seem to be an accepting lot as a whole, and many of them actually like the challenge of helping us with our atypical gender presentation. If she's seen you with forms and nail polish, I think the cat is at least 90% of the way out of the bag anyway, and her reaction may well be something like, "I've been waiting for you to ask me that!"

Go for it.

Showing her a pic might be a good idea (at least that worked for me)

Just say exactly what you want.

I told mine I wanted a page style hair cut with bangs and she had no problem and went right to work. As others mentioned, take a pic from one of the fashion mags to show her what you want.

Don't be afraid, just do it.

So she has seen you with forms and your toes painted?
Why are you scared to ask her for a feminine hairstyle? Not like she will look at you weird.
