To set the scene.
I was totally in male mode I was surfing here at the forum when I remembered I needed razors if I was going to shave tommorrow morning to go out tomm enfemme.

Ok I headed out to the Walmart Neighborhood Market (basically a grocery store) to get my razors. When I got to Walmart I remembered I needed a hair brush to fix my wig properly, so I head on over to where they keep 'em.
I picked up a hair brush and some nair to do the job right.

Ok now I have my hair brush, nair and razors I am good to go in the morning.

Now the next part I have been thinking and thinking about for a long long time. As I am headed toward the check out I walked into the aisle where the Tagamet and Estroven was at <<deepbreath>> I decided to pick up some estrogen assuming the self-checkout would be available. Naturally as most of us cd/ts/tv etc... know we have no luck. All of the self-checkouts were closed for the night. <<another real deeeeeep breath>>

I proceded to the regular check out figuring ok it's late there will be some old lady or old man working the register, Wrong again, there she was adorable as hell A TEENAGE GIRL. Oh Crap, too late she has seen me!!

Ok I suck it up, figuring on a real good round of smart comments. :o Pleasantly I was wrong. Even though she had just rung up a ladies hairbrush, nair, and estrogen she did not make a rude comment, gesture, smile or anything, she acted like I had just bought a case of eggs and a gallon of milk. Phewww my heart was racing so fast at this point It could have been the pace car for Nascar.

I made it out of there nice and casually got back out to my truck and almost passed out. I guess it turned out ok after all.

There you have it ladies the reason I am on blood pressure meds :)

Good on you girl , glad that it all went okay for you . Just goes to show that you really can't tell a book by it's cover. Just lucky you didn't get a double shock and get pulled over for NASCAR driving on the main road , hehe . Think you would have a had a coronary :D

This just goes to show that it somtimes our pre conceptions of others and how they will react that keeps so many in doors.
Well done

Thanks for sharing your story Jenny, another fine example of how sometimes our greatest challenges in being out and about come from within ourselves. Maybe a few dozen more such examples, and it'll finally make it through my thick skull. Continued good luck and courage. Tammi

Yesterday we went to Mervin's. Which btw is having a 50% sale, since they will be closing their doors on Jan 1, 2006. Anyway, my wife need a new billfold, so we found one. She went off with my sister and I went over and paid for it. No problem, the sales lady was very nice.
For the most part, you don't have to worry to much about any comments. This day and age, it is common for men to buy female stuff in drab.

Since you mentioned Blood Pressure meds, I will give you a bit of advice. I am a GG and when I went in for my annual exam I too was taking Estroven for menopausal symptoms- hotflashes. When my Doc took my blood pressure it was very high. He asked me if I am on any herbal suplements or vitimins. I told him I had been on Black Cohash and had recently switched to the Estroven- about 6 mo on the BC and 2 mo on Estroven. He advised me to stop both since he was going to put me on Blood pressure meds- Atacand- HCT He felt the herbals would not be mixing very well with the meds. At any rate if your on Blood pressure meds, please ask your doc about using the Estroven or any other herbals, you could be risking your health.

Take care of yourself.

i am a semi retired mechanic,(do we EVER retire?),,anyways i had gotten done working on a friends car and she need a lightbulb and wiper blades,,well when she came to get her car i had changed into my coffee color pantyose with shorts and she asked me to take her to the parts store to get the parts,
so there i am in the local checkers in the headlight isle in shorts and VERY obvious pantyhosed legs with about 7 other people in the store all shoping,,a few guys noticed my attire but no one said anything,,,,:o

i do go out in public in suntan pantyhose with shorts so it was no biggy bein around people in pantyhose but it was my first time in a color that stands out

Checkout cashiers generally don't really care what they're ringing up in my experience.

BTW, I'd second Honey's advice. Hormones are heavy-duty voodoo and can have some very serious -- even fatal -- side-effects, which is why they really only should be done under a doctor's supervision.

Most don't care who buys what. If one of their people did stop a sale they would be fired. Believe me! I have been told that also. When they are hired on in retail, "don't bother the customers in any way" is what they are told. Let them shop, try to be helpful to all of them. No matter what they look like, sex, color or what ever. Be good to them, they are your pay check. I have worked in retail stores in my younger years. Also I have friends still in retail. A new employee always is told things like that. Even given a rule book stating these type things some times.

Don't ever worry about buying anything in a retail store. Also you don't have to give anyone a story at the check out. It's your business only what you buy. If a checker ever did make a comment to you about your purchase it could be their job. So most just shut up and do their job. That being said I'll get off my soap box, LOLOL.

So have a nice time out shopping Hun.

Haley:)

Well so far I have been taking Estroven for a couple weeks now, I don't think I have noticed any changes, Maybe my beard growth has slowed but the legs hairs seem to be coming back quicker Grrrrrrr I can handle that though I would rather shave my legs than my face anyday. Otherwise I guess I am going to keep on keeping on and see what happens. Keep checking back I will continue to post updates as they occur.
