For those out there who don't know, about 18 months ago I lost 100lbs. I still need to lose at least another 100 and have stated what I call phase 2. I will update my progress every so often, more as a way of keeping myself honest. Here's the thing that scares me. I am living 24/7 and have been for about a year. My biggest fear is that I blend in more with all the other "large" women, rather than women in general. That's makes me question if at a 100 lbs less will I be able to blend at all? This is a real fear for me. I put off losing this next 100 just because I was comfortable with my appearance. I must lose it for my health so that is not a choice. Any words of wisdom? I can't explain how worried I am about this.

Keep it up, dear. I think it's just wonderful what you have done. Obviously you know how to do it. Keep it up.

You blend well with fat girls? I want you to stop thinking of your life as "blending" and start thinking of it as "being". If you "blend" well, you are still a guy in a dress. And your internal awareness will color your whole life. Women don't "blend", hon, they ARE.

Hi Michelle!

I think what you have done is fantastic! I can't tell you about your particular circumstance, but I can tell you that it was my losing weight that made me feel better as a woman. It changed my life, my health, and everything. Don't value yourself for being "large," value yourself for being great!

Hugs,
Persephone.

You are right of course. I never give blending or passing a second thought any more. Or at least I didn't until I started over thinking this weight loss thing.

Thank you so much. I just put your quote on my refrigerator. Hope that's OK.

Very nicely said. I would add though, that anytime time you can lose excess weight, whether you are a man or a woman, you're doing your body a great service.

I have a Post OP frined who also lost a lot of weight, she is happily married, and so pretty.

She has told me more than once that most biggest thing she did to pass was to loose weight, more so than HRT and FFS

Also a 100lbs overweigth= health problems real soom

Worry not.

I have lost about 90# in the last year and a half, maybe 2 years, and it has been the single best thing I could do for my presentation. Trust me, you have a waist in there somewhere. Find it.

I undertand your fears about the excess weight......I didn't intend to but started to lose weight (my Dr. was real happy, mainly due to health issues) after a bout of the flue. Currently I'm about 225 lbs. and want to lose another 30 or so. Maybe I can find my waist in their somehwere also. Good luck and keep losing those inches, I know I need it myself.

This is something I learn as a continue to progress...even tho i'm "done" with transition...i find myself surprised when i reflect on an encounter I've had....how i acted, what i said, etc.... being is so different than blending, and its a learned thing..

i found the same thing with my voice..i believe the practice and coaching i received helped but it was going out and doing it that made it happen...

like you i lost 100 pounds my goal is 165 pounds however my phase 2 is only 85 pounds and it is just not working for me :(
and getting desperate.
but I'm not sure about the passing thing you won't know till you lose the weight. and how do you define passing?. people either accept me or they don't thats how i feel. anyway all the best to you congratulations keep up the good work

I have been working on my voice. For me what helps the most is putting myself in positions where I am forced to use it. For instance I will do a day of garage sales and interact with dozens of different people as a way of gauging their reactions. Whatever the results I am developing more confidence in it.

I lost 100 pounds over 3 years and managed to remain at the same weight for 2 years until recently when I put on a few pounds. I have recently started hrt and I am trying to losre weight again by excercising. I have never really bothered before in my life so I am starting slowly amd increasing steadily while at the same time trying to eat a bit less and more healthily. I am doing OK so far although I have not lost any weight yet but it is early days. I am aiming to lose another 50 pounds at least over the next 2 years.
