Yep, that’s the one. A brand new pair of tights [or hose if you are one of them lot over there] I put them on and somehow my stiletto brushed them as I went to do up the buckle at the side. A ladder all the way down.

So that’s it then, evening ruined!:angry:

I bought a brand new pair of very expensive, grey, sheer opera hose from SIL a few years back and when putting on the second stocking it ran before I could get it gartered! Didn't even get to wear them once! And at $25.00 a pair--OUCH! But S*** happens!

Well could have been worse.
A. Could have happened when you were out .
B. Could have wrecked more then one pair that night.
C. Could have been you leg skin that got the run. Ouch!!!!!!!

So it could have been worse. That's why I buy the cheeper hose and lots of them. If you wear them all the time you'll go through them like a frat boy does underwear while drinking lol.

Or think about it thus way.... You get to.complain about something that only women do. That's better then not knowing what its like to be upset about something you never get to do. Lol.

a Dominatrix i knew would never let Her boys pull Her stockings up for Her unless they were wearing disposable latex gloves, as it would prevent their clumsy fingers from ruining Her stockings. me? seems every time i pull stockings out of the package, i manage to put a run in them! :( you'd have thought i would have learned! happens to all of us Suzy. could be useful for the next 'tarts & vicars' party, though :)

Thats why the designed long skirts, even tights with ladders (hose with runs, for us Americans) don't show. Karren, the thought of how that gravy is used scares me.

I hear you Karren I have had similar nightmares about going to some rural restaurants. I live on the Western side of the Appalachians and those dreams usually include scrambled eggs too!

Hi Suzy - it happens to all of us who wear nylons/tights, regardless of "natural" gender.Standard practice for most women is to buy a few more matching pairs and wait til you get a run in another pair; then cut off the spoiled legs and wear the "good" remains of both pairs. Hugs - Diane

Yep. Happens to me all the time. I have learned to be very careful and be sure my nails are smooth and I am not wearing a ring. Also, I always purchase two or more pairs. That way I have a back-up set.
