I'm very new to CD and thinking about my first outing. My main concern is: when I need to go which restroom do I use?
Many of you are very convincing. I don't think I'll be able to be so. I have a hard time seeing myself using the boys room as a woman.
I could use some advice.

You may want to check what the laws are in your area. In Colorado, the laws allow you to use the restroom of the gender of the you are presenting as.

Checkout you local state laws.
Many here will tell you to use the ladies room. But remember as a crossdresser you are still a MAN dressed as a woman and you could be arrested for entering a ladies room. You could also run into some trouble from other men if you walk into a mens room.
I suggest you look for a unisex or family restroom.

If you dress and look like a woman, then you should use the women's restroom! I dress enfemme, but wear no makeup or wig so I use the men's room! Have never had a problem!! When my wife was alive she did my makeup and fixed my wig so that I looked like a woman. Then I used the women's restroom!! Never had a problem there either!

I have heard this question before about which restroom to use and almost 100% of the time everybody says if your dressed as a woman then you should use the womens' washroom.
As Rita says not all of us are convincing.
So what do you do if someone starts screaming theres a man in here?
I assume you just leave as fast as you can and don't get into any discussions with the cops about state laws that say you can legally be there. How many people have had anything like that happen to them?
Are there any places in North America that you can not enter the bathroom of your choice while dressed up?

Hello Rita

I agree with Virginia B.
I know the common answer is to use the women’s restroom if you are dressed as a woman. The point being, ‘dressed as’ does not make you a female.
In my opinion, this is one of the most dangerous areas in which some of us tread. For me, the bottom line for all of us should be SAFTEY. Male or female bathrooms can be equally dangerous and no issue inflames quite as much as a man using a women’s restroom. Unless you can pass convincingly, I suggest you look for a single unisex toilet, rather than going into a larger restroom that may have others in there.

Rita, even though I live in Vegas, this is "the very reason" I am so frustrated about, plus it's my "main" concern for "not" pushing my SO "real hard," to go out fully en femme! Problems, problems... :daydreaming:

While I was active duty flying, the last thing on the checklist was relieviing the blatter at the left wing tip; then having a big capacity until the flight was over. Not cogent today, I'm sure, so I have the same problem as you, Rita, with CDing...

Which one, indeed?

I was at Disneyland last nite. An employee advised me to NOT EVER go in a ladies restroom!

Since my stupid tites kept slipping down all nite, I must have gone into men's restrooms over 15 times to pull them up all the way. Dorothy, (me), got a LOT of strange looks. But hey, it's Halloween, so no big deal!

Hi Susan,
I agree with you! I have a 7 year old granddaughter. I don't want to even imagine her going into a restroom with a man in it.
Let's face the facts. I love CD and don't see anything perverted about it, but there are pervs out there who would dress like a woman in order to do perverted things. I never want to be arrested for being a perv in a restroom alone with a 7 year old girl.
The problem is, I'm a woman out in public and I have to pee right now. What are the chances that I can find a unisex restroom before I pee my brand new silk panties?

Had that happen to be I would advised them that California law lets be use the womens bathroom .

Hi Misti,
I'm glad to meet a local. Others can't get how uptight, conservative and redneck anal, Sin City residents are. If I walk down the street being me, good chances are I'll get beat and have you ever seen a unisex restroom in a casino.
I'm still determined to be free to be me. I will dress the way I want and I will find somewhere to pee. If you hear a story on the news about a man dressed as a woman, beaten to death and holding a mason jar of urine. You'll know it was me.
Rita

It seems logical to use the room that will cause the least problems. If you get in, do your business, and get out there is little chance that using the women's room will cause any problem. You probably won't even be noticed. OTOH, if you go to the men's room wearing a dress you most certainly will be noticed.

Do try to use the restroom at a time when you will leave the establishment right afterward.

While in many states the law is on our side, that won't help much if some touchy GG takes offense and tells her over-testosteroned boyfriend that you were the man in the ladies' room!

Well, the general rule is that if you are confused about which one to use...you have to stand between the two restrooms and "hold it" until you decide. Oh, I believe you are also allowed to tap your feet and bounce up/down too while you are deciding.:D

If I have a legal question I ask an attorney, check statutes and ordinances or call city agency and ask them.

If you do a forum search for "restrooms" you will find a thread where I posted links to sites that answer that question for each state. I submitted them for the sticky section "resources"...but everything was purged. I can't access my links now. I am on a backup laptop. For some reason my regular laptop does not work with a fist sized dent in the keyboard, :D

Hi Rita, I, too, am glad to meet a local. When you do find a unisex quarto de bano, let me know the details, will you? Er, of where it's at, that is? Er, the restroom, that is?

Most people don't know that Kerr lids separate into 2 parts (pun intended - in two (2)... OK?)!
