My monthly pedicure

This evening was my monthly pedicure. My stylist, Jackie, always schedules me for the last appointment of the day which is around 6:00 PM. As I normally do, I went dressed androgynously. I wore a pair of black man-tayored Limited dress pants with a red ribbed t-neck. I wore my Naturalizer loafers in without socks. I always take sandals for the trip home. Tonight, I grabbed a pair of black strappy slides with a 4" heel.

The pedicure usually takes about 1 to 1-1/2 hours. So, tonight I would be finished when it was dark. She conpleted the session by applying a dark pink polish. We sat and chatted while it dried. At this hour, it is only she and I in the shop. Tonight, she admitted that she does not like going to her car after dark, and would I stick around and walk her to her car. I said "sure". It took her about 10 minutes to clean up and close up. By that time I had slipped into my heels. Jackie admired and really liked them. As she is near my size, she asked to try them on. When we left the shop by the side door into an alley, we had about a 1/2 block walk to her car. My car was parked nearby. She was impressed on how well I walked in 4" heels and complemented me on it. We did not pass anyone on the way to the cars. Got her to her car safely and then to mine.

My pedicure is always such a relaxing time. We talk about makeup, fashion, jewely, shoes, etc. Tonight she was asking what my favorite lingerie items were from Victorias Secret.

My recommendation to you girls is to not only get a pedicure, but get one girl you can establish a rapport with. It can be so much fun.

Oh, I agree whole heartedly,,, I love getting my pedicures. I get one every other week, it's a small indulgence but makes me feel sooooooo fem and sexy. It really is a pity that our close minded society is so against men wearing nail polish on their toes let alone their finger nails.

And I agree, you must find someone that you can share your confidences with, so that you may feel as relaxed and safe.

I have to admit that a pedicure and manicure are some luxuries that men do not normally take part it and should. The lady I frequent adores the fact that I do not have a problem putting a sexy color red or pink or any other color on my toes. While I can't fully have a manicure, she has assured me that on Friday before Halloween she is going to give me the full treatment. My only question now is do I go with something ****ty like a red or more sensual like a plum

I agree with you all. My wife and I went to get a mani-pedi together several weeks ago. We had a wonderful "girlfriend" day and the ladies working at the shop weren't the least bit judgemental. THey treated me like all thier other customers, we chatted, laughed, and enjoyed each others company. In fact, the lady doing my pedi said, "I think I'll try to get my husbans toes painted this weekend!"

I get salon pedicures about every 2 to 4 weeks, I love them! The cost varies, from around $20 at "discount" salons, to as much as $60 at day spas - but they are worth every penny in my humble opinion :)

I wear acrylic nail on my hands 24/7 and get fills every 2-3 weeks. I usually get a pedicure everyother time. the last one, my wife and I got our toes painted the same color... our little secret! Next one will be on the 28th... getting the whole works done. I've got plans for the 31st! :D

The costs as has been said before vary, I get a spa pedi, this includes my pedi as well as a massage starting from the top of my knees and working down to my feet. I can not tell you just how wonderful it is. The cost is $56.00 every other week. And I have to say more than worth the cost, just for the overall feelings you get and well,,,,, the time speant just being treated to the luxury of such a sensual feeling, and of course looking down at a sexy pair of strappy 3 inch sling backs with 10 beautifully painted toes in them..... he he he,,,

I too have long nails and my nail tech suggested the next time I come in for a fill that I get a petticue too. I have really enjoyed my nails and I know I am going to enjoy the petticue too. I don't think I'll go with RED but a Lite Pink would be nice.

I love getting my pedicures! The techs are all Vietnamese girls and who know what they're saying to each other, lol? And who cares!?!? I just know it's tons of fun and my feet feel soooo good afterwards. I have always gone with my wife and it's fun to sit side by side and share a little femme time together. Last time, I got some pale pink polish that looks great AND glows like crazy under a black light! Yeah, a "black light"! Still a few old hippies left I guess...Olivia

Manicures and pedicures are definitely a great experience. If you don't want color, ask if they've got OPI Matte Nail Envy -- it's a clear coat, which as the name implies, isn't shiny. It looks no shinier than if you've had your nails buffed. I wear it all the time and no one has ever noticed.

As Dana said the price varies considerably depending on where you get them done.
