Hello Everyone,

I am so very proud of the girls that can get dressed and look in the mirror. Seems this forum is full of them.

However, does anyone else not look in the mirror? I walked into my hotel room tonight and covered every mirror in the room before getting dressed. I guess i am just ashamed of looking like this.

I enjoy dressing, nothing feels better that sitting down in cute dress with stockings and a thong. But its my secret alone, minus a few SA (lol). Anyone else do the same thing?

I used to find mirrors very disturbing. There was always a GID looking back at me.

Then one day I looked into the mirror and Eryn looked back at me. Since then I love 'em!

Covering the mirrors is like you said "part of being ashamed", i think alot of us go thru that when we arent accepting of ourselves. Somedays i still have slight GD....i look in the mirror and go "oh yeah manface, gotta shave..."

And like Eryn says there is a day that will come when you will face yourself and accept the person looking back, then the shame is let go. Be proactive and dont cover the mirrors.... and when you see yourself....smile back.

Yes, Erin, I felt EXACTLY like that! When I first began dressing 15 years ago. I nearly quite dressing almost before I began!

Then, just for the halibut, I tried on a MASK! And, now I LOVE mirrors and I've NEVER LOOKED BACK!

I love to look in the mirror, for it's the only place I can look that will give me the truth

I cannot pass a mirror without looking in it. Always have to make sure everything is looking good and in its place.

Not just mirrors. Shop windows are great for seeing behind your back. It's a great confidence-builder if you don't see heads turning around for a second look, especially if you tell yourself that those who do like what they see (a good outfit or an attractive woman).

Hello Everyone,

I am so very proud of the girls that can get dressed and look in the mirror. Seems this forum is full of them.

The mirror is our friend....it tells us that the seams in our stockings are straight, that our slips are not lower than our skirts or dresses, that our outfits look good together and that our makeup is the way we want it to look.

However, does anyone else not look in the mirror? I walked into my hotel room tonight and covered every mirror in the room before getting dressed. I guess i am just ashamed of looking like this.

Erin.....don't be ashamed! Embrace the woman who looks back at you from the mirror! Celebrate this part of you as much as you can! I believe that part of the reason that we dress, is a love of self. Not to be confused with conceit, self-absorption, or being narcissistic.....but simply because we love the feminine side of us equally with our male counterpart.

I enjoy dressing, nothing feels better that sitting down in cute dress with stockings and a thong. But its my secret alone, minus a few SA (lol). Anyone else do the same thing?

And it's fine that it stays your secret. But look in the mirror....see the beauty in that woman who looks back at you. :hugs:

When I look into a mirror I enter another world. It is my portal to a parallel universe where I reside as female. It is a world far away from the reality of this universe, it is a universe where there is no hatred, nor bitterness, nor resentment nor jealousy nor selfishness, just me and an endless shopping mall. If I walk down the street I fear looking into the reflection of glass as I do not want to enter the universe there and then, hell I have not done my lippie huh.

I admit, I'm a bit vain. I can't stay away from a mirror dressed. My evil twin however, hates mirrors. I makes me sick!

I have a background in Football and powerlifting , so my body is far from feminine . So i like to imagine what i look like , not how i actually look . It's kind of scary to see the 5'11 240 lb man wearing heels looking back in the mirror .

I like to glance in a full length mirror as I pass. Once in a while I get to see the girl looking back. (Of course it helps that my eyes have not gotten better with age.)

I hope covering the mirrors turns out to be just a phase for you; a full-length mirror in a hotel room showed me how a simple dress changed my shape completely.

6'2", 230lbs but not too much muscle (best ones are in my legs, defo)

I can totally relate. I didn't like mirrors either. But, mind you, that fear goes away and you'll have your mirror be a great ally in helping you be all you can be! :)

Mirrors quickly become our friends. Where else can you get an honest critique of how pretty you really are?

Then one day I looked into the mirror and Eryn looked back at me. Since then I love 'em!

What an interesting response! I haven't had a comparable experience, but can see where it could happen.

Unfortunately, I still see the GID. I've tried describing to my wife not liking what I see because of gender perception. She tends to conflate it with aging. Interestingly, were I more attached to my maleness I could live with the aging. I'm no Cary Grant, but I'm aging reasonably gracefully. What bothers me is the loss of the baby-faced part of my look. That's age-related, but typically a desireable part of aging for most males. In my case its a loss of an appearance softening factor that made my male appearance at least somewhat tolerable.

But dressed ... I look in the mirror anyway. Maybe Lea will really look back one day.

Vanity...thy name is woman.

Mirror, mirror on the wall......

Pass by a mirror without looking or at least a glance to check my appearance....
Not on your life....lol

I manage to ignore my face when I look in the mirror, and when I catch a passing glance of my skirt it just feels so right.

Edit: Speaking of hotel rooms, I once had to stay in this really trashy hotel where I noticed that the TV had a small lens on the front panel that was not the receiver for the remote control. I put toothpaste over it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was hooked up to some porn site.

I like the view I see in the mirror. My only problem is that in the mirror I look better than I do in photos.

Am always looking for mirrors, glass doors or window or anything reflective enough to check myself out to see how beautiful I look or just to make sure everything is in order.

Strangely for me it's my male side that is egotistically obsessed with mirrors and will spend plenty of time staring at one admiring himself. While in girl mode, I use them more as a tool to help get my look correct.

I used to be the same way until one of my friends was visiting and asked me why I had so many "fun house" mirrors in my house. It's funny how many things go unnoticed when you live alone...:heehee:

Now, all mirrors have been replaced with regular ones. I left the center mounting screws on each side of the mirrors loose, so if I ever get fat I can just tighten them up until I look skinny in the mirror, :heehee:

:hugs:

A girl's gotta look good doesn't she, so how would ya do that without a mirror?

As time goes by and my inner woman becomes stronger I am finding more and more uncomfortable looking in the mirror and seeing a male person. I only look in mirror for practical purposes (shaving, brushing teeth, combing whats left of my hair). But when I see Kathryn in the mirror everything changes and become happy once again...

I hate looking in the mirror as I get undressed. It's like turning from a butterfly to a worm.
Making the transition from Fem to Drab is hard enough. I hate removing the make-up, the clothes, and the foundations.

I look in the mirror every time I dress. Even if I just have a bra, forms, and blouse, I look in the mirror. There are a lot of mirrors in my house, installed by the previous owners. None, however are full length so I have a hard time seeing my shoes when I have them on.

I have lots of photos, though.

What's the point, without the mirror you get no feed back. I love to admire my fem form in the mirror.

Must be really hard to put makeup on?

Not sure about, Erin, Karren, but my hands start shaking and I suddenly need a strong drink when I just THINK about having to put on makeup!

Couldn't put on make up with out a very Strong magnifying mirror, after that the rest of the mirrors seem very friendly, and we have mirrors in just about every room in the house, it would be hard to ignore them if it where a problem.

I can identify with what Kathryn is saying. When I first started applying my own makeup I was less than pleased with what I saw, but I find I'm more accepting of my female reflection these days. Perhaps I'm better skilled, but I think a large factor is becoming comfortable with the image of myself as a woman.

I understand how you feel. I have difficulty with the mirror as well. I feel so much better than I look it can be a shock to see myself as I really am. I keep working on my look and I hope that one day I will like the looks of what I see looking back at me.

and oddly enough, only during months that have 28, 29, 30, or 31 days in them. Isn't that spooky?????????? Why those numbers I wonder?
