Are you happy as a crossdresser?
What makes it so calming for some guys to wear female clothes?

Emmi, I am not sure what makes it have a calming effect over me. All I know is that it does. But, am I happy being a cd? Well yes and no. I would not trade being a cd for anything. But, I never have seem to have enough money for all the clothes I want. And that makes me unhappy. But other than that, YES. I have worked to hard at accepting my self not to be happy with it now.

Yes, I am happy as a CrossDresser. The "calming" effect for me is that it allows me to escape from the tensions, stresses and demands that I have at work, and in my relationships, and allows me to experience something within me that is feminine, soft, gentle and usually on the passive/submissive side.
But it goes way beyond calming -- it is an exploration and liberation. It is a way for me to emulate the femininity I so admire in women. I like the swirling sensations and emotions I feel when I'm in my 'ritual' of bubble baths, makeup, lingerie and outfits, wigs, nails, shoes and perfume. Few things feel as good, nor or as complex in the mixture of sensations.
I will be even happier when I have more experience and confidence going out en femme in public; when I'm totally comfortable with myself out and about.
I enjoy being a girl!

Happy. Satisfied. Content. At ease. Normal. Relaxed. Peaceful. Fulfilled. Complete.

I don't do it for any other reason then the fact that i feel like a girl so i have the right to dress like one. It saddens me that the general public does not feel the same way. Not my fault i was born the wrong sex.

I have always enjoyed dressing, even when I used to feel guilty about it. It has always calmed me down no matter what. It took a while to figure out, but it's a chance for me to be myself.

As much as i enjoy dressing,
as great as i feel walking outside in my new outfit
as wonderful as i feel shopping for clothes and makeup
as feminine as i feel when my heels are clicking down the walk and i know the guys walking behind me are checking me out.......
i have to admit that i wish the things that made me feel so good were more socially acceptable and didnt make people i care about feel so bad...there are 2 sides of it for me
i KNOW what its not MY fault...its just the way it is..
of course what i really really wish was that i could transform between male and female at any time, at no cost and that i could live a full and complete male life or female life interchangeably!!!!! now that would be cool

Yes and no. Yes, because I couldn't imagine my life without being able to wear women's clothes. I adore them. They make me feel "right". They are soft and beautiful, and when I'm wearing them, I, too, feel soft and beautiful. Yet, I wonder at times what life would be like if I did not have this gender conflict every day. Rarely an hour goes by that I don't think about it in some way. It is distracting, and at times detrimental. It's hard to be unaccepted by the world around you.
That said, if given the choice, I would not give it up. It is too much a part of me, and I am in some way blessed by it. It is both my curse and my blessing.

I completely agree with you---except for the going out in public part.
The only time I did that was last Halloween---when i was a Gypsy fortune teller.

Hey can a GG reply to this???
Ohh well lets go for it........
I have lived with SammyJoUK for the last 9 yrs and I hadn't noticed (well maybe I had but hadn't approached the subject) until my mother (yes my parents know about sammyjo) mentioned that she was very calm as Sammy but when he's Male he's very .......... lack of words here.......... Not rough and not nasty... A little stressed but aren't we all at times..
I've got it 'Loud'...
Yet in either mode she is the most caring man/woman I have ever met.
Now question is which would I prefer.... The female.... Calm, dainty, unpredictable, emotional, sexy, more talkable to...... like I can share my darkest secrets with.... You get my drift...
But saying that even I would miss that cute back side and cute muscle ripples...
So if you took the Male temprement away and leave those two things then I am all for the female. :D
OK enough of me waffling on, its so nice to see that there are others thinking and going through the same things.
Hugs and Kisses

I allways feel better when I am dressed, I guess it is because I can get away from the outside world when I am. But, I would love to be able to be dressed all the time.

Well, I'm not looking for it to end.:) I'm just looking for a way to have it fit more tranquilly into my life. For every step forward I take, there seems to be two giant leaps backwards.

Am I happy as a crossdresser...?
Wow what I question... you just opened something quite interesting.
Let me start by saying I do not really understand CDs, although in the eyes of the world I am a CD, although I link with the designation TS more that CD, because that is what I am, a transsexual. I don't feel wearing clothes that is female is CD in my case because I am female so there is no reason that I should not be able to wear them... wow I am so open minded. Unfortunitly society does not always see it that way, but as long as I am respectful no one gives me a problem.
I have never little facination is being "feminine" or wearing "ultra feminine" clothing, heels, pantyhose, etc. I just want to be accepted for who I am, clothing is a very small part of that. I would rather be confortable in a pair of womans jeans, a blouse and maybe some light makeup then all "dolled up", a term I still have trouble understanding.
Do I enjoy CDing... I don't know, I don't see it as crossdressing, but I guess I enjoy it... someday I will do it 24/7, when in the eyes of the world I am who I have known since I was about 5 years old... a woman.

Thank you! I wish I could say they are mine! they are not. The only time I ever had anythig on close to that was my moms in my mid teens. It was a petticoat, black skirt, a burgandy sweater with a big turtle neck that hung down a few inches, one of her really wide supporting bras, ruffed panties, dark pantyhose, black high heels, and a beautiful blonde wig. And I made up my face too. My parents were out for the night and my brother was over at a friends house for the night. They were the most comfortable cloths I have ever worn. I even took a drive around the block that night totally in femme. I will always remember that night. I almost got caught that night!
