One of my neighbors two doors over is a widow. I just got this email from her:
Around 1:00 today some of my girlfriends are coming over for a purse party-so don't think you are being invaded. Carolyn
Hmmm, I was so tempted to ask why I was being invaded but not invited. Particularly since I am dressed now. But she doesn't know, and i am pretty sure she could not keep it to herself. I know, I probably shouldn't care if she does tell on me, but I'm not quite there yet.
It does sound like fun, though.

You could send her an email and tell her you would like to come early to get the best buy. Or afterwards to see what was left. I'm friends with a few widows that appreciate someone who can help them with fixing things or help them lift something into place. None care how I'm dressed.

Perhaps she is just a bad typist. Regardless, appreciate the invitation and enjoy the party.

Well, why not just write back and ask if you could be invited?

Well, that's just it - Donna wasn't invited.

Great idea, Karren! I think it sounds reasonable to me.
And since you wanted to fit in you pulled out your old Halloween costume. From when you lost that bet. Lol.
Pushing the envelope, I think! I doubt that would ever fly...... :heehee:

Darn, it's after the party. I was going to tell you to go ahead and go. I crashed a cousin's 50th birthday party that was all women. I called the person who was hosting it and asked her if it would be OK for me to come dress as a woman. She said sure...and i did. My Mother, sister and wife were all there. I had received all sorts of help from friends and looked OK. I was a big hit...wish i had seen this sooner, i would have encouraged you to go for it!!!!!
