Short answer: Not nearly enough.
Long answer: It varies from person to person.

Its not that they shrink as much as your bottom rib vanishes and that allows you to nibble away at the parts. Thats what really happens to them. You eat them.

Thinking of trying hormones for more fem shape.
Before you try hormones for any aesthetic purpose, you should really consult both a medical doctor and a mental health specialist (or at the very least a suitably qualified therapist).
Messing with your body's endocrine system and taking mind altering drugs should only be done under strict medical supervision and IMNSHO for a very compelling medical reason.

I fully agree with what Rianna stated.

They don't shrink nearly enough. You may be in the wrong forum section.

With regards to the original question: about two months ago a fairly similar question was asked; you will probably want to read the responses there (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?157848-How-Much-Shrinkage)

The penis responds to shrinkage much better with a strict regimen of hydrochloric acid.

As I am about to also start HRT, hopefully by the new year. I see the whole 'shrinkage' thing as being a bit of crossed purposes. I definitely understand wanting it to be much smaller/go away. But conversely... dont you need a fair amount for SRS so you dont have to have more radical procedures in order to achieve a usable depth? From what I have read, dont these lengthening procedures have a higher degree of risk and expense associated with them?

There's not enough shrinkage to cause any kind of concern for SRS.
The testicles are what shrinks. The penis doesn't really shrink. It may not get as hard as it used to and when flaccid it's smaller, but I don't think you actually lose anything.
1.5 years on HRT and my testicles are probably 50-75% their original size. My penis is usually quite small now when flaccid, but if I get a full erection, it's the same size it's always been. Full erections are just less often.

I think it's been said but I'll say it anyway, I don't think you can "try" harmones. You'll need a Rx for both Estradiol valerate and Prometrium or what ever drug gives you that "look". I am by far not the expert but from what I've read you'll need a shrink first then a Md to get the script.....

There are other ways to get hormones... but I would not recommend "trying" HRT without a psychologist's recommendation and a doctor's supervision.
The primary reason for undergoing HRT should NEVER be for the physical changes.

Ask a silly question, you get silly answers -- I think it's a law that has something to do with Isaac Newton.
And to pour a bit more salt on your wound, Wilt, hormones aren't even a surefire way of obtaining a "fem shape." Some parts of your anatomy may shrink and other parts may grow, but not always enough to be all that noticeable, and nothing actually disappears. I suggest padding and tucking -- it's safer and much more easily undone.

In my case: 2 moths on HRT. Estradiol patch and Finasteride. I've noticed less libido, and when there is, it is a lot different. No more morning "salutes" . Some shrinkage. As per testicles no change.
