Hi All,

Has anyone here traveled from the US to the UK with their girl clothes? Were there any problem with taking your breast forms? I'm fantasizing about the idea of walking into the hosiery section of Harrods fully dressed to buy some Wolfords. Any other places I should go while I'm in London?

Yes, somewhere a lot cheaper than Harrods!
Are yo a rich B***h?

Definitely not rich! I was visiting London about a year and a half ago and wandered into Harrods to see what all the fuss was about. I was quite taken with the lovely female sales associates who were all dressed very professionally in skirts/dresses with pantyhose (tights in the UK I guess) and high heels. A young woman of Turkish decent (its on their name tags) was equally intrigued by the middle aged American man who wanted to buy tights for himself. Ever since that encounter I've been thinking about how wonderful it would be to try this again fully dressed. My concern is getting my clothes and especially my breast forms through airport security and then having the courage to actually follow through with it. Not to mention the safety factor of dressing in a relatively unknown city in a foreign country.

So you are a b***h then. Only joking!
From what you say about Harrods I will have to pop in myself some time.
I can’t see a problem with getting breast forms through airport security unless they are made of semtex. There not are they?
London for a crossdresser has to be just as safe as New York, Boston, or wherever.

Come over and have fun girl.

Have not been en femme to London, forms always in my luggage.
No worries there.
Travel O"Hare to Heathrow usually.
Harrods? I bought a couple of videotapes there once, they were cheap, I was asked if I wanted a Harrods bag for them and when I turned the offer down I was told that most people only come in so as they can get the green bag.
I accepted it and put it in my pocket.
The videotapes were cheaper than buying at the Electronics Row in another part of town.
I will be there after Christmas again.

Were there any problem with taking your breast forms?

I recently asked the very same question with regards to a trip I was making from Canada to the US. Everyone here told me, as I suspected, that it would not be an issue. Well, I just got back from that trip, and guess what? THEY WERE RIGHT!! I had my full forms and my Nu-Bra in my luggage, along with a number of other femme items, and there were no issues at all - note even a "we searched your bag" note from the TSA.

Interesting.. I am flying to Amsterdam then Stuttgart tomorrow and was wondering whether or not my forms would 'travel' in the luggage hold. I don't fancy having them in my hand luggage!

I think the biggest danger is some TSA scumbag nicking something nice from your luggage.

Isn't the V&A museum near Harrod's? it's most definately worth a visit. If me, Skirtsuit, were to go out en femme in London I would head over to Fleet Street & the Temple in a nice black skirt suit and see if I can blend with the beautifly dressed British business women. I would also go to Oxford St and wander in the big department store. M&S anyone? They used to have a killer hosiery department.

Cheers!

BTW, If you've never been, the Temple is very, very cool. The church in the middle (inner?) Temple is AMAZING

I've traveled to Europe and Asia numerous times with my girl cloths. My breastforms did find in the suitcase. I'm not sure the Wayout Club is still operating, but you have to go!

Most of the museums are "near" Harrods, Gloucester Road or South Kensington tube stops. V&A, Science (for your inner boy!) Natural History, only the British Museum is in a different part of London, but still only a few tubs stops away in Russell Square.

If any of you ladies are comign to London, you should say in case any of us BritDressers can make it to meet you!

Is the only place advertised outside the UK London?
if so you guys are missing out. (Just my opinion obviously. :) )
Not trying to upset anyone who is from London but I had to ask.

A must visit shop is What Katie Did. Go treat yourself to some fine lingerie. If you like you could buy some for me too.

The one place I would recommend that you NOT take your breast forms and high heels, is Muslim countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Iraq, or Iran. There are strict laws in these countries pertaining to women as well as men. For example, women must wear their Abayas when out in public, but can take them off in the family areas of restaurants - where they can be all dolled up and beautiful. However, if a man goes into the family area unescorted, the women can have him beaten by the religious police.

Normally, for foreigners, if they see things they don't like, they revoke your visa and put you on the next plane out, and put you on a list that assures you will not be allowed back in.

When I brought an extra hard disk with my computer, the custom's agent wanted to see what was on the disk. I offered to put it on my computer (since the drive was formatted for Linux), an show it to him, but he then lost interest and let me in. If there had been pictures or documents showing I was transgendered, I might have been sent home.

The UK shouldn't be much of a problem at all. If Customs does examine your luggage, you will need to confirm that these are personal items, you own them, rather than gifts for someone else. They may also need to inspect the breast forms (some types of forms and implants have been used to smuggle drugs), but normally things go through quite easily.

London's pretty diverse for the UK, so I'm sure you could go there an very few people would bat an eyelid. It's a very open minded place and I know there are tons of places up there that cater to people from all different subcultures. My boyfriend took me there for a weekend when we first met. We had a lovely time! Harrods is scary expensive though! I loved dragging him into Hamley's Toyshop though. Good times! :D
