Simple question, with as many different answers as individuals. Which do you feel is/was/will be most critical towards your transition and self fulfillment?
To answer the question...I suspect for me it is SRS. I feel the upcoming FFS is just polishing the apple. But that may change.
I hope no one answers "Neither, for me it was my BA...". But maybe that will be my answer after mine in the Spring... :tongueout

While I have started HRT, I have yet to fully transition but I feel the most critcal for me is SRS. It will allow me to have my body in align with my mind/spirit. I am a homey man and will be a homey woman but I will be a complete woman. FFS would only be icing on the top.

SRS, because I can live with how I look.

I find it hard to say, both are very important to me. If it came down to choosing one or the other I would probably go for SRS.
However both are only a dream for me at this point in my life, they are both so far out of reach financially that I try not to think about either.

Hi,
Depends on how you accept your self , looks for many is important, my advange is in being different ,I S ,
So F F S , does not come in to it,
B A, as to the shape of ones body Can be taken away because of cancer. very aware of that issue & can / does effect one who has had that,my Mother for one, Tho does not change one from being a female / woman .
S R S.. Improtant for myself because i wont ever be seen other than being a female / woman & thats inline with who i am from birth.
Being I S has been very positive in knowing what i was from very young, & that would out weigh any surgery, tho surgery was lovely for my self because i was given the all clear to being myself to express who i was / am & no hang ups . from that point it was a fantasic time of coming out of the cristalus from grub to butterfly, being ......FREE.....surgery was my escape to a freedom that can not be explained in any other way. my life my all.
& who i am as a woman .& to be accepted as one 100 %.

SRS, I don't have a big problem with my face.
Totally personal experience and so far both procedures fulfill entirely different perspective of transition!
FFS seams to signal my affirmation on the arrival here in the reality of perception and rigorous critical eye of the onlooker, and yet it is quite an internal need to finally see what was so illusive for so many years, a reflection of an image representing my soul.
SRS then will be a fulfillment of true identity in respect to my partner (if any) to feel as a real and true and whole. But this even though seams external will be for me, the feeling I have nothing to hide, just as it is with FFS, I will be transparent and believable.
Then comes MRS (memory reintegration surgery) but I got to wait about 30 years fr that one :)

Bit of wisdom here people. Those of you that say "SRS because I am cool with my face". You will not be the first to say that, but after having SRS then all of a sudden FFS becomes important.
It is so easy to ignore reality. Sadly most trans people really should factor FFS into the cost of transition.
How important is FFS? I paid more for my facial surgery alone than I paid for my entire trip to Thailand which included SRS, BA, and Lipo. Thats the entire trip people.

When your in public no one sees your vagina but everyone sees your face.
Your neo vagina is wonderful but it isn't going to get you anywhere in day to day interaction with society.
My opinion is if you need FFS and only have money for either SRS or FFS hands down it should be spent on surgery that would allow you to live as stress free in your authentic life as possible.

You will not be the first to say that, but after having SRS then all of a sudden FFS becomes important.
For a start Kate that is OK if you have the money for it - I don't and am struggling hard enough as it is to save money
for SRS. And from my experience with talking to post op women who have had SRS it is like "What is Next?" And this is
the situation with one of the girls in my group who has just had her SRS with Suporn in Thailand. Now she is going to
have FFS, but then again she needs it more than I do, because when we walk down the street together people look
at her and don't even look at me.
Again this comes down to the fact I was born intersex and could be accepted as a female without even being on hormones.

Me Pre-HRT.
A natal female who works for our local LGBT organisation said to me just recently "You know Melody out of all the trans
women I am have met, I find it very hard to see that you were previously a male". So I value her opinion more than yours.
And I have no problem attracting guys, about 6 or 7 guys tried to hit on me last Friday night alone. I lost count actually. :D
I have had lots of feedback Kate from people who know me in real life that don't seem to think that I need it. If I was to
get anything done, it would be a bit of liposuction to my neck and maybe some eyelid work. If I am going to spend money
on any other cosmetic treatments then it is only a bit of hair transplant and electrolysis work I feel that I personally need.
Again, this is a matter of personal choice and you need to respect that fact, rather than force your own beliefs on others!

it's apples and oranges, atleast for me. Speaking as someone that hasn't done anything of this, both afirming but in different ways. SRS is for me alone, less visible for others to see, but it'll tell me that I am truly a woman, I can see the result and know that I am now a woman. FFS on the other hand tells others that I am a woman, they can see it everytime they look at my face, and with that give me confidence to be more feminine.

Gosh ...maybe if I was the most female looking mtf ever, or if I was so gorgeous I had sixor seven guys on me every night, I wouldnt have wanted FFS either!

Maybe you should try coming to one of our all girls (lesbian) nights and see all the hungry boys
drinking the front bar salivating, and turning green with envy because they were not allowed in
the back room where we had our party last Friday night. I reckon you would have at least a dozen
or more guys hitting on you every time you went to get another drink hun ;)

I used to want some FFS a lot prior to SRS. I wanted some feature that was totaly female. HRT changed my face quite a bit, but I was not satisfied. SRS made me want it less. I am still waiting for my hairline to improve. I just seems way less important now. I may get my eyelids done one day... I don't know. SRS changed a lot of things for me. I get some guy drool already, but I want more, and the BA would be key for me, not FFS.

I don't need FFS; or BA as 2 years on HRT took me from a 36 Zero cup to a 36 C and I love the way they look. And the good news is that they are still growing in small spurts now. Maybe I will end up with 36D's either way it does not matter as I am very happy with my perky boobs as my doctor calls them. But I am not a fair one to ask this question because I have always looked very feminine.
BUT the icing on my cake is SRS in the beginning of the new year in Thailand!!!!!!! Then the BIG decision as to what I am going to do with my newly acquired female bottom????????

It seems like the SRS is the biggie. If you are young, single, and want to date, it's nice not to have to worry about someone discovering the surprise package and getting upset.
FFS is more a function of your particular facial features. Some, who have really muscular jaws - or look like pro wrestlers, might really NEED FFS. For most, however, there can be the trap of thinking you'll never be pretty enough. After electrolysis and/or laser, and make-up, it's much easier to pass, even without FFS. HRT will also soften the face and facial muscles.

Yep I definitely understand that!!!!!! Hey Julie do we have to dilate the rest of our lives? If so, how often? I am not talking about intercourse dilation (smiling) but by artificial means. How about our own fingers? Does that count as Dilation?????

I'm not Julie, but can answer.
One or twice a week (if you are too tight) for the rest of our lives (20 minute sessions). Fingers don't count, but a penis does.

Organic dilation is the preferred method...
