I got a new job as a cashier at some restaurant. After five years. It involves the register and serving some of the customers.
I considered dressing for the job. Actually I dressed for the interview. But when they said I had to wear a white shirt that you can see through, I changed my mind. lol
I'm not that interested in being gawked whether or not the forms were the real thing or not. The advantage I have or the birth females working there is I can take mine out and put them away. LOL.
The guys that come into this place gawk and drool over anything with breasts. Thanks but no thanks. I 'll be dressing in drab at work. Nor do I like the idea of being groped by random men.
But I will keep my rather fem hairstyle.
Now then, how to make my rear less attractive.....unfortunately I cannot remove that since I was actually born with it.

I say go for it and dress for work. Who knows, maybe it could lead to you getting some very large tips from your customers. ;) Maybe our sisters in your area will leave you large tips as a sign of "I only wish I had courage to do what you do". :)

Yeah.... Assuming you don't plan to make a carrier there.. And can get another job when they lay you off due to customer complaints.. In this economy do what you must to keep an entry level job... Get raises or promotions... Imho.

So what kind of business would require anyone to wear a see thru shirt/blouse?

I hate to think it in this day ad age, but Karen is most likely right about this.

We have to make decisions that lead to the continuity of the species. You need to make money, get a career, and hang around here to keep the chat going. Dont want bad happenings at work getting you down. When it is right, you will know. REAL SHAME about your rear.....LOL

Congrats on your new job, Bob! Hope it works out.

I don't understand why you would dress for the interview but not for the job. It seems that you could handle inappropriate behavior - GGs have to do that all the time. If random men even attempt a grope - there are appropriate responses.

They have not said anything about my hair so it looks like I can keep the long hair as long as I keep it pulled back and neat.

Ditto ditto here. I thought only Playboy demanded one wear a see-through top and anyway, wear a camisole underneath; problem solved.

They had a meeting. The only thing the boss said about hair was that it had to be kept clean and out of the way. For some odd reason my sister keeps wanting to cut it. "Men can't have long hair on the job".
That seems like nonsense to me. It the boss has not said to cut it, then why should I?
Now, last night, she claims that someone told her I need to wear a hairnet. Two things with that:
1. I don't deal with food.
2. No one said anything to me about it.

IMHO you need to tell your sister to mind her own business.

Bob, do I follow you correctly here? If they want you to wear a hair net, they will tell you. If they want you to wear a thin white shirt to help keep you cool, wear one. If they want you to wear yellow and orange shoes, wear them. In the meantime, keep looking for better work that fits your skill set. If you want to dress en femme, I suggest you run it by the boss first and then, if everything is ok with the boss, come to work dressed appropriately for the job just like any normal woman would. Bob, I hired alot of people in my days as owner of the company. Focus from the bottom and strive for the top, not the other way around.
