OK only relevant to those in the UK (or visiting the UK), but Wednesday is major day of disruption due to strike action from the public sector etc.
On the positive side it may give a few of you an unexpected day of dressing up:D
Not me I'm afraid, kids will be off school and I have an appointment to keep:sad:
Enjoy it if you can, but spare a thought for all those who are effected by it all!

They are idiots that can’t face the real world. And the union leaders are the worst.
Just my opinion. Mustn’t get too political.

Hi Suzy,
How would you like being told that to retain your expected pension, that you will need to work for a further eight years, pay a further £300 per month into your pension and have your pay frozen for at least the next two years.
This is not my personal example but is that of many who will be supporting the day of action tomorrow.

NOT being political about this, but personally I would rather have my pay frozen for 2 years than not have a job at all!......and I'll say no more on the matter ;)

I used to live partly on the interest of my hard earned savings. Not now!
We are all suffering hardship. Why should the public sector get away with it and live the good life.
I will stop now before I get a bit cross.

This is somewhat interesting, but I thought this forum was for things having to do with crossdressing. Reading the posts this thread sounds more like a political discussion!! I suggest the Moderator remove it!!

The good life? Are you ****ing kidding me?
I'll start off by telling you that Im a Registered nurse, and I work in A&E.
For the last 6 years the pay increase offered by the government was basically the same as a 5% pay CUT when cost of living, tax and duty were taken into consideration.
Im not paying into the pension scheme at the moment because I cant afford to. I live a pretty modest life in a 1 bedroom flat in a fairly deprived area of town.
One of my colleagues was called in by HR 4 weeks ago to make 'adjustments' to her pension and sign new contracts. She is the same age as me, same job and has a similar kind of lifestyle, we are on the same pay band but hers is a higher level.
When she went to HR, the new contract basically stipulated that if she wanted to continue with her NHS pension, she would have to pay an extra 300 and something quid a month and also work for another 8 years.
If she did not agree to the terms she had to opt out of the pension, and her total pension savings WOULD NOT be refunded to her.
Are you telling me were living the good life? Nurses go to university for 3 years racking up debt, continuing education throughout their working life, giving care to over 1000 people per week in AED. All the vomit, blood, piss, shit, bile and in some cases bones and brains that we suffer through to do our best for the public.
And you complain because you cant live off the interest of your savings?
And you say public sector workers are idiots that cant face the real world?
Public sector workers dont get the luxury of savings. The truth of the matter is we live pay day to pay day, working our fingers to the bone, understaffed and under paid in a service that has to much of a demand.
Come up to the north and have a look at the real world, I think you need to, becuase you haven't a clue what youre talking about dear.
You have no cause to be a bit cross.
