Now that the fall and winter seasons are upon us, how do you ladies store your nighties, chemises, and spaghetti strap gowns? I have quite a variety of each and want them to last. I currently have them hanging on a hangers in my closet (I am out of the closet at home :)), but was wondering if I should fold them up and put them in a drawer until I start wearing them again once it gets warmer. I don't want the straps to stretch or lose their elasticity. I love my warm flannel nightgowns and pj's for the winter. Any thoughts or recommendations?

The more delicate items I hang in the closet. The rest are in the lingerie chest that my wife had me build for myself. A little scented sachet in the drawer for good measure and voila.

The ones I'm not wearing I hang in the closet. The weather makes no difference to me, so rotate them year round and don't have any flannel ones. Thought about it though, especially a red plaid one with white ruffles.

I would imagine yourself, and MOST People would already know; but I will throw in a Caveat for Newbies. "If your going to store your things, no matter for how long, or where, ALWAYS put them through a thorough washing before you store them away." You discourage mildew and mold, and things that are not properly clean and stored away, just smell dreadful when they are "released from captivity."
I would bet that many, many gurls have lost valued items through inattention to this detail. "Yeah, you can store that Nightie by hanging it on a hook on the bathroom door, but if you don't wash it, leave it sweaty, and store it for just a month or two in a closed container....it's gonna' smell like a skunk got into your clothes!" NOTHING smells worse than rancid sweat.
After a short time, you can't get the odor to abate, and the usual result is "pitch it in the trash can." So, heed me now and spend just a little time messing with "The Delicate Cycle" on your Kenmore.
Peace and Love, Joanie

I always wash all of my delicate things and wrap them in tissue paper after carefuly folding them. I store them in plastic storeage bins wiyh scented sachet.
