clubs or hangouts in the des moines area?

any of you other girls from Des Moines, IA? planning on a christmas vacation for two weeks with family and would like to check out the scene. ( if any) also, do you know any TG/TS/ CD friendly places to look for clothes? still kinda too scared to just go to the mall:(

I visit Des Moines about twice a year. The Dress Barn in Ankney on Delaware is friendly although I have not gone there dressed.

Buddys Corral, in the East Village, Downtown area is CD friendly. Z's Bar in the Iowa Cubs Neighbor hood is OK too.

Shopping......... I just go to Merle Hay Mall. Lane Bryant, Ulta, Kohls, Sears, never a problem.

thank you sooooo much! :) i know the east village area really well, said relatives lived near that for years. cubs neighborhood? is that east side or west?

i will be going here too. but i planned on going in drab for most of the shopping, having a GG cousin take me, just so i can minimize the risk of potential trouble or humiliation. thanx for the heads up!
