Help and support for all of us...

So, it is just me thinking out loud here...

I'd like to see all of us putting toghether a Google map to help us all to things like, advice, shops, bars, clubs, medical services and whatever have you. I am an international bowler and it would be great to put it all in one place so we all know where to be, to go, it should be easy. Perhaps stay away from fb as some might have a different approach there. Wadday think?

How about a website where all that info is available? And more! Maybe we could call it something catchy! Like CD.com?

I started a Yahoo group some years back for just that reason. It became a logistical nightmare for me to handle alone and consumed far too much time. To keep control of the group so as not to have any undesirables, I would constantly have to delete members that would ot comply with a few simple rules. I would easily go from 1,200 members down to 200 after doing an edit. Far too may people that just wanted to look at pics and far too many commercial porn sites( she-male type) trying to post for free. It all sounds easy but it takes alot of help and constant editing.

Sounds a worthy idea, but difficult to exclude 'undesirables'.

Johanna, it may sound like a good idea, but as others have said there are problems. The "undesirables" would overwhelm the site in no time!! And none of us regulars would like that! I think the way it works now is just fine!

Yeah, I think it would be cool to have some sorta global guide, geograpically, for us all, as I do understand this is the one planet at the mo. it should be easy, I have seen people from all walks of life here. I for one could cover the UK, Europe and some parts of Australia as that is where I hang out. Most of us here seem to be in the US, so I have to leave that for orthers as I am not there that often these days.

Lassies, wadday think? Could someone kick this off, if not me? We all got iPhones and pads, Just imagine what we all could do for the community. It has never been this easy!

Ok, I picked up some noteworthy things about people that might not be good for us all, but then again, what is going to happen? Nada! So, lets get this show on the road and think of nothing, worst come to the worst we can all be anonymous contributors to something one might have to subscibe to. Not too bad in my books. It could be easy stuff like letting others know of a friendly shop or just somewhere you can down some food without being pestered.

If I understand the topic like I think, I would recommend that the site you want to be like "citysearch . com" which we have here for US cities (don't know about the rest of the world).

But of course with priority to all things CD/TG related. I would not recommend having a forum style site as you would get the undesirable people. But a site that simply gives info as to whereabouts of places that we would frequent and the ability to rate them maybe. But as far as who is going to run this site, I have no idea, but it could work.

I still want to do this... You lot are going on about muppets that might not be that welcome, but hey, I kinda thought, if we all could contribute to helping a sister out, perhaps even the muggles would come to an understanding that we are all a part of their environment, they just might not have noticed yet. I for one denied myself for years and I can only regret this. I feel soo sorry for all these people not knowing what they are missing out on, lets help them! Lets help the community!

I just wanted to say that I think the Google maps thing is a great idea!
I havn't seen any limit of nodes that you can put down in it so it shouldn't be a problem... and just don't make it public but share it in a way that everyone with the link can edit and then post it here... then you can avoid it being overrun but everyone on the internet!

I think I did one a while back, the idea was to see where the members lived but everyone was to afraid to put their pin down :D

Esmeralda, good thinking I really like to do this, but I am the lasiest girl on the block so contributors are needed for this little project. You being out there in Sweden I guess the community is a little bit smaller, having lived there three times and I often go, so it would be good for me, personally, to know my way around when there. Most lassies here seen to be in th US, so that area should be covered pretty quickly. I would like to map Asia and Russia but I don't see that many of us out there.
