Over the past few months I have been having conversations with my fiance about my emotional well being. This past year has been one big emotional roller coaster. The year started with me finding out that I needed surgery. Prior to surgery I finally proposed to my fiance (she of course said yes). A few months later I found out that I needed another more extensive surgery to correct the issue that they attempted to fix during the first. I was out of work recovering for a month and since then I have been feeling rather down.

The outcome of our conversations was that after the start of the new year I would see a doctor for depression. It was also discussed that I am wound up tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up my behind in a week you would have a diamond (a little Ferris Buller reference for you). The discussion shifted how to blow off steam.

My fiance threw out an option that I never thought would come from her lips. She offered to help dress me from head to toe and take Megan out for a night on the town. This kind of came out of left field and hit me upside the head but then again she is very supportive of me.

In my head I was all tingly like she just hit the nail on the head but my initial reaction was to take that option off the table. She wouldn't let me. She knew almost immediately that she was on to something and suggested we take our already planned trip to Chicago and extend it a day so I could experience venturing out as Megan in a city where no one knows me. I told her that the only way I would do it is if we found a really cute outfit.:daydreaming:

I love her so much!!!!

I am really excited about this. I am giving it a few days before I bring up the subject again because I want to know how far I can go with this. I don't want to push too hard otherwise I am afraid this option will be pulled off the table.

For those of you that have ventured or live around the Chicago area. Is there any place that is accepting of a CD and their supportive fiance? We were thinking something in the way of a nightclub or trans friendly bar with a drag show.

Let me know your thoughts.
Hugs,
Megan

That's great news for you. Happy to hear it.

I wouldn't try to push it to the limit, and just let it play out. She seems to be cool with directing the whole thing, so let it happen naturally. And thank her in the most sincere way, and show her how much you love doing this and how much you love her. It could lead to her full understanding and support of you dressing more often and freely in the future.

Megan, you might want to go to Transformations In Arlington Heights. It's a boutique that specializes in transgender offerings. You can get a makeover and information about all the transgender friendly places in the Chicago area. It's located at 110 S. Arlington Heights Road. Rori and Lisa are wonderful people.

A month ago this would have been useful information unfortunately it is lost on me for now.
I am in Chicago on the 19th but I fly out on the 20th
I need a haircut and I was thinking of a Liza Minelli look I could probably get away with that.
There was a golden opportunity with a hairdresser next to the hotel today but when I went down she had 3 walk ins and that blew my plan out of the water.
Oh well back to Ross tonight looking for real skinny jeans that I need to be poured into.
Another pair of boots could be in the offing as well.

Jill,
I was actually thinking about scheduling an appointment with them between the holidays. I have been there before a few times. I actually bought my first full outfit there and had my very first makeover. That place holds a special place in my heart.
