I've noticed that alot of you in the forums haven't gone out as your better femnine side just yet. I was wondering what was holding you back.

Maybe I can help?

I know what you mean, and there is nothing like going out for the first time. The day you decide to make the move, and you close the door behind you, your body tingles, your loins ake, and the adrelalin coarses through your body. I remember as if it was yesterday.

What's holding me back, lack of those dead Presidents. Lol

For a first time out, I recommend a TG makeover salon. My first outing ever was Countessa's Closet. While finicky and claiming to have movie stars shop there, she did a great job transforming me into...

my sister? :p

These shops will make the first timer feel at home, and you can learn a thing or two about makeup and presentation. They'll have everything you need, but expect to pay for it. I spent $500 bucks there, (forms + dress + wig + makeup + ...)

So, get up the courage girls! It's a lot of fun!

It helps a lot to have someone to go out with the first time. My girlfriend, now wife, accompanied me.

It also helped that she lived smak dab in the middle of transexual Vancouver at the time, so there was little trauma for me. I dressed at her place with her help. The only people who even noticed were the tourists.

I have heard a lot of good comments about Countessa's Closet so if any of you are ever in Los Angeles... definately make it a place to go. The area is also basically TG friendly and she will even accompany you for a night out, if you like.

Ava is right, though... it is expensive! But sometimes you have to pay for quality and for an experience that you will always remember.

What stops me? Quite a few things.

1st: I live at home still, and I'm too scared to tell them.
2nd: No job = no money = no wig or make-up
3rd: eep!

Halloween is coming up!! NOW's the chance to hint to a girlfriend that you want to go dressed up! Maybe they can dig up a wig for ya... Ain't no better scenario for this time of year!

Hello girls,
The thrill of going out all femme. ;)
I will never forget the feeling to be a woman. Yes - there were a few that saw through me - but they didnt screem (a joke). The freedom to go to a mall and shop and be a woman. There is no better feeling that being a woman.
Go ahead and try it - even if it is in the evening. Hide alittle in the dark - and then dare to take your hands away from your face and walk like a woman infront of people.
Love you.
StephanieS.

My 1st time out was the Halloween thing. It was wonderful!!! Nobody expected something like that from me. I even went to the restaraunt where I worked. At least 2 people who knew me didn't recognize me including a co-worker. The shocked looks on their faces made it all worth it.

I have been out several times, but only in the dark. I went away on a short holiday last October and in the evenings I went out dressed fully. I do not have a wig, so I put on a hat which women wear during cold weather with a winter coat on with the collar pulled up and I felt great.

I did feel worried at first, but I then took control and walked normal and just acted in a normal way. If you walk strange or act shifty even as a man you will get looked at. But act normally and very few if anyone takes a second look. I even walked past two police offices last time. Mind you I very nearly had to change my panties when I got home LOL. :o :o

So I am looking forward to the dark winter nights. The best time is when it’s dark, cold and with slight rain. An umbrella can hide lots of things and most are only interested in getting home.

Hi Girls:

This may not quite be the same... but a couple times I've brought everything in to the office on a Saturday when no ones around.

I do my transformation, use the little girls room then leave.

I get to walk past the security guards, down a 75 foot marble hallway (luv the heels) and walk out to my car.

The drive home is a rush. But boy those heels are interesting with a stick shift.

Huggs and kisses all.

I've been out maybe, 4-5 times.

First couple of times were to a local support group, whcih was great. I could go there in 'drab', get changed and madeup there, then change back before travelling home again. I stopped it partly because it was just too long a drive and mostly because the ex-wife was giving me 'grief' over it. (She was very concerned that I'd run into someone she worked with. Couldn't get it through to her that if I did, they'de likely be dressed too).

Been out a couple of times since then, to a fairly local place, tg friendly. (Well, I guess it was friendly since no-one ran away screaming, no-one fainted, no-one picked a fight and no-one called the cops!)

I think it's different for all os uf, and depends not only on our own inner selves, but also the locale.

There are plenty of bars, restaurants etc near me that I go to, but none that I'd go to en femme. Too much of a 'risk.

And it's not like I'm small, nor physically weak. (it's 'cos I can't RUN in heels!)

There's no doubt the best experience you can have while dressed is going out in public. Saturday Jacki and I went out. It was the first time in about 6 weeks and it was fabulous. We drove to The Edge in Jacki's Mercedes 500SL with the top down. What a rush! Cruising down the street with our hair blowing in the wind :D

Here's a couple of pictures of the two of us just before we left Jacki's house:

The only thing I didn't do was wear nails because the damabe the glue did to them the last time I went out. I need to find those stick-on tabs!

Anyway going out in public is something everyone should do at least once. Of course if you do it once you'll probably never stop. I know I was really nervous at first but Jacki was so cool about it I knew I had to be brave. Now I'm addicted!

Take care all,

Julie

Most hobby stores have solvent that will soften the glue enough to gently wipe it off. I usually pop off the fake nail, and dab on the solvent. It takes a bit to soak in since the glue is strong. After a few minutes and several applications, you can take a strong paper towel and wipe most of it off. The rest will peel off in the next day or so. (Super Jet & Jet De-Solve)

I also find that if you put the glue on the fake nail first, when you pop it off, most of the glue stays on the fake nail. You want to keep the glue near the center of the nail, because glue that spreads to the sides will stick to the skin, making it very painful and dangerous to remove with out De-Solve.

Acetone will dissolve the fake nail, so don't use this if you want to reuse the nails.

I used to live just down the street from some dear friends who were, of course, CD friendly and supportive of me. Her and I even traded clothes. But , anyway, I used get all dolled up and walk over to visit them in the evening. One night I happened to cross the street in front of a car with 2 young bucks in it and as they drove by they gave me catcalls. It is definitely possible to be terrified and thrilled at the same time! I was.

what stops me?

I don't want to lose my job, friends and family just yet. :o CD-ing is a private thing ;) , strictly for fun, not to risk my future over.

Staying deep in my closet, for now and probably for good. :)
