I watched it with my daughter last nite. If u haven't seen it, all the famous cartoon princesses r together. Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunsel, along with Shrek's Fiona and her queen mother.

Oddly, there's one other unnamed TS "princess" with them. With masculine looks, voice, hands and demeanor. Along with real breasts!

The story never explains, discusses, or appologizes for her!

Does anyone know why or how she was added to the story?

If your referring to the lady on the left, then its Doris the ugly step sister. There's two of them, Doris is the nicer of the two. They aren't really ever explained. They are just there because Cinderella is there I believe. Its sorta sad that they are "The Ugly Step sisters" but I think its good that she's never treated any differently or ridiculed in the movies. As far as I can remember at least.

Like Stitch, I think it is a good thing that she is treated as just one of the girls. I'm by far no expert, but I feel by exposing our society to thoughts of acceptance of CD's/TV's/TG's, all of us will be able to leave the closet and live the lives we want to and truely be free.

I think it was nice they made clear the real nature of the ugly step sister and didn't apologize or make it an object or ridicule- on the contrary she was kind, powerful and friendly.

Doris is first seen in Shrek 2 as the bartender in the Poison Apple bar. She is voiced by Larry King.

Of course, in the film she does not seem intended to be TG, simply ugly.

Now for a real TG character in the Shrek series one need look no further than the Big Bad Wolf, who is discovered at the beginning of the first movie in Fiona's bed wearing a bonnet and femme nightgown and later on by Shrek in his bed. He is described as "Gender Confused" by Charming.

Another reference to crossdressing in Shrek is that in the 2nd movie, there is a scene where they're trying to get Pinnochio to lie so that his nose will reach across to save someone and they tell him to say he's wearing women's underwear, which he does, only to have his nose not grow. This one is played a little bit more for laughs as then Shrek pauses and says "Are you?" and the gingerbread man opens the back of Pinnochio's pants to announce "It's a thong!" But then they immediately move away from it.
