At work last night, a co-worker of mine that knows I crossdress, were talking and somehow we got on the subject of traveling while dressed. I told him that I would love to cross the state line and come back, just knowing that I had been in another state dressed. The more I thought about it, crossing over into Canada and coming back started to turn the wheels in my head. I was wondering has anyone gone to another country dressed? Is it legal and if ID had to be shown, was there any flags raised? Did anyone one have to show and ID of their male body? Canada is about a 4 hour drive from here, and I wanted to know how to go about doing it if there were a legal way. With the possiblity of us having to have passorts to cross the US/Canada line, how would that be done dressed?

I live just this side of the border near Vancover BC and go up there every now and then. I bet it would be eaiser to get into Canada dressed than it will be to get back into the US. But you have to show ID both ways and to get back in the US you need a PASSPORT now.
Personally I would not risk it.
Also I know a border guard (now Homeland Security) and a man in drab crossing the border in either direction a suitcase full of womans clothes is a flag raiser:eek: It is an indication of smuggeling, people not drugs.

While it sounds like a nice idea to travel enfemme I wouldn't risk crossing the border. Border guards have no sensitivity training to deal with gender issues since their job requires them to be vigilant against undesirables. Chances are you'd be questioned and end up on some sort of list and watched even when you get home.

Please don't risk it. I can't speak for the Canadian side, but here in the US you will be setting off some major alarms. These Border Patrol folks are very highly trained and have no sense of humor. This current Homeland Security, terrorist, illegal alien issue could end you up on CNN news. At the border, while you're talking to a border agent, there are cameras searching inside your car, your license plate, closeups of you and videotaping all they see. While this is going on, someone is running your name, license number, social security number, etc through all sorts of federal, state and local computer data banks. If that border agent, sees you as a male dressed as a female, and presses a button, you now have a file in the Federal system and someone will check you out. Not to mention possibly being detained, strip searched or having your car torn apart.

Don't risk it like everyone else have said. The thought would be great but the state line and border are two different things.

Hi Dark_browneyes,
I guess I don't understand what the purpose is. It almost seems like it's the thrill--which itself presupposes the possibility of getting caught. Sounds like all risk and no gain.
I drove to Toronto once (en drab), then changed at the hotel and visited the clubs. Seems much simpler.

Hi
The only option I can see to cross the border en femme, is to show your real passport and explain, you are giong to a party.
If you try to decieve the border guard you could wind up behind bars
A similar approach would apply to air travel ( you have to be honest with the security services)
This seems like a wonderful thought in theory ( not so in practice )

If you've ever had a DUI you are not allowed into Canada. If you lie about it you will probably get by but can possibly get into bad trouble.

Having been through this I can tell you that you can indeed get into Canada after having a DUI. You just have to fill out paper work stating that you have been "reformed" and it will cost you $350:eek: you can do it all at their customs, but you have to pay right there or they still will not let you in. (Lucky for me they took visa:o)
It is amazing what they can find with computers and databases, they had my entire police record from every state I lived in all the way back to when I was 18, including my one DUI I got when I was 19. DUI was not such a horrible thing when I was 19, all I got was 40hrs community service and lost my drivers license for 90 days.
But they only do this kind of background check if you look suspicious and get sent to inspection or just get chosen for a random inspection. While they are running the dogs through your car they be running your name through the database search.

Any one in the Uk can always get to Europe without any problems. Just catch the Eurostar and change on route - No problems with passports as this is done in the UK.

I was just wondering aboout all of it. I figured doing something like this would raise red flags, but I just wanted to know, for knowledge sake. I also didn't know about the DUI thing for getting into Canada. That is what is so great about our "home", learning new things along the way that might not directly deal with crossdressing. Thanks ladies!

Refusal to cross the border works both ways, we can't get into the US if we have any sort of record either. 9/11 changed a lot of things. :(

I almost did it!
I lost track of time and was still wearing a mini-skirt with a bra under a polo shirt and eye make-up when taxi arrived at hotel to take me to SEATAC for an overnight flight home to the UK. I hurriedly pulled off my skirt and put it in my carry-on bag and pulled on my jeans and a denim jacket.
At the security check, I was asked to remove the jacket. I did so somewhat hesitantly. My bra and "breasts" were evident under the shirt. Thankfully they did not want to pat me down. Nothing was said, did anyone notice?
So instead of rushing to change in the gents, I boarded flight half and half.
Jeans were tight and uncomfortable and I was worried about DVT, so I managed to slip them off and pull on the skirt under the blanket, as everyone around me was sleeping in the darkened cabin. I was soon sound asleep myself and was woken some time later for breakfast. There I was, unable to change back, but still covered by the blanket.
I never join the initial rush to leave a plane, so I stayed seated, then when the clamour had subsided I got up from my seat and strode down the aisle and up the jet-bridge in my skirt.
But this time I did rush to the gents to do a quick change. I did not want to go through UK customs and immigration in a skirt, old mascara and eyeliner was bad enough.
