Some background. I had surgury on the Nov 16th and have been off work since to recover. My boss required me to get a letter from my Dr before coming back to work. While going to my appts and everything at the VA, the staff was quite nice about calling me "Dee" per my request. I am out to the VA though my records still go by my male name.

When I finally got my letter today it had my male name on it, which is okay. But in the letter the Dr made reference to "her" still recovering from the surgury. I didn't have the heart to request that it be changed to the male pronoun as I am not out at work. I smiled to myself all the way home. Even should my SO and we both chuckled. I corrected the copy to a male pronoun in ink. My worry is that the boss will question the correction in ink. I do have an excuse ready though.

Just had to share this with you girls.

7th Heaven for me. I just wish I was fulltime.

It is interesting and funny how validations come in so many unexpected little ways. Congratulations and I hope that you will be recovering quickly and successfully.

I think the boss will probably just assume the doctor copied some boilerplate text into your letter and failed to change the pronoun. I doubt it will cause any big alarms to go off.

Good times.

And seriously, your boss will think "typo!" not "tranny!"
