View Full Version : They never asked, are you a crossdresser?”

The conversation went this way………
Dad, what do you do with all your spare time at home? [I live on my own]
“I have plenty to do” I replied.
Don’t you ever get bored?
“No, do I look unhappy?”
No, you’re always smiling, what’s your secret?
“I have a secret part of my life that you will never know about”
Will we know when you are dead dad?
“Well yes.” [As they cart my lifeless body away they will find 16 party dresses, 22 pairs of shoes, several skirts and blouses, a lot of stockings and tights and a lot more by then]
The next half hour was fun. They started the old elimination by questions game. Is it this, is it that. But I would not say anything. It was all good natured, I have a lovely family.
But of all the questions they asked me not one was, “are you a crossdresser?”
It was fun, SUZY
[And if you think I will ever slip up and let them find out then you do not know Suzy!]

Good post. I am in a similar situation, though have not been asked so many questions at one time. I figure if they find out I will explain. If they do not, I saved myself some potential grief and pain. I like your family!

My kids are back on winter break. My daughter says to my son "Dad is becoming a girl, he dyes his hair and went for a pedi/mani with me (part of her Xmas gift). Little does she know when they're not around

That is cool Suzy!
We were watching TV together and my daughter asked me if I was "secretly a drag queen." The honest answer. . ."No." :battingeyelashes:

Suzy,
Great post and like you, I do not see the need to tell my daughter, although she would be OK with it, just less hassle this way.
Once I'm dead, not a problem what is in the closet.

Your threads are classic and they all seem to make me laugh. It's only been a few weeks that my wife went back to work in the office after two years of working from home, and now i get home before her and start the cooking and setting the table. My daughter came home the same time with my wife and dinner was ready and my daughter said to my wife, maybe it's time to buy dad a skirt. I said i'll take you up on that, and my wife said he's a size 12. We were laughing but my daughter didn't get the joke. I hope not.

You didn't say if you would have admitted it if they guessed.

I think you're LUCKY, Suzy! That they care enuff to ask!
My teen daughter has NEVER asked me even one question about what I do or with who, when she's not here. Or, what I'm doing on the computer day and nite! Of course, that means NOT having to make up stories about where I am when off at SCC or DLV, etc. Or, worry about hiding my semi full of fem gear in practically plain sight! She seemingly has no curiosity when it comes to her old man(lady)! Ha ha!

Ahhh my Suzy.
You are such a great girl. I'm on the same side of the closet as you, however, every once in a while a little bit of Renne leaks out. Dad, why are your eyes so black? Oh crud, I must have some dirt left in there from working on the car. Really it was that darn waterproof makeup again.
Little by little if you dress, you will get caught... I'm thinking it's kindof like an earthquake. It's not a matter of if but of when. The longer I can postpone the "outing" the better for all concerned.. although not all of the girls here will agree with this one...

All my kids are adults now and living on their own. And like you, they'll know for sure when the family gathers for the last remnants of my possesions. Mine haven't played the question game yet but if they ever asked if I was a crossdresser, I would smile proudly and tell them a resounding YES! Then after my admission, I would show them photos of Jill so they can see how much I enjoy being her.

Suzy, that's a great story! It sounds like you had a terrific time. If they had asked you directly, would you have been able to maintain your poker face?

With the amount of domestic chores, cooking, baking, laundry, ironing I do, I'm surprised nobody has made any comments that I need a maid's outfit.

I think I should come back on this one and answer the question, If they had asked if I was a crossdresser would I have said yes? ……………………………No!
I am stupid, but not that stupid!
On a more serious note, crossdressing among my family and friends is not acceptable.
They would never disown me or treat me any different but they would never understand or accept it.
But having said that, my daughter probably would. If I ever come out to another person she will be the one.

Suzy, I think they're onto you. If that's the one question they didn't ask, maybe it's because they didn't want to ask it, not because it didn't occur to them. What was it Sherlock Holmes said? Something like, "When you've eliminated all other possibilities, the remaining one, however improbable, must be the truth." If they adopt that reasoning, well. . .
I don't want sound too doomsday here. Just speculatin', that's all. Annabelle.

Your worrying me now Annabelle. Don’t do that!
I was having a nice peaceful morning doing my housework, changing the bed sheets, having a coffee, adjusting my skirt, happy with life, and you come along and say that.

WOW! You hit the hammer right on the nail. What a great way to look at it and so true. Why go through all the that rif raf when you could just be happy and not worry what your family thinks. Also myself if i had to tell anyone in the world it would be my kids.

Sorry, Suzy, I'm always doing that, ruining people's days. It's why I don't have any friends.

It rarely is. The first question is generally, " Are you gay?" Go figure.

Maybe they know more than you think. Since you are a happy, well-adjusted person, they are respecting your space while giving you the oppurtunity to share that unseen part that makes you happy and well-adjusted.

Did you read the last line in my thread Tanya?
And you don’t know my sons. My leg would be pulled so much I wouldn’t need a stepladder to reach a high shelf!!!!!

Teenagers have very inquiring minds. Just because they don't ask it doesn't mean they are not working on it.
They can gain the ability to unlock a safe at 10 paces, in five minutes.
Their curiosity? Worse than a cat.

Suzy1, I'm in a similar situation. Great post, thank you.
There will be no ignoring the fact that, by June, my hair will be shoulder legnth, and my beard stubble and chest hair is gone forever. Most of my beard (excwept for the whites via laser) is already gone now. That is a big step for me, and all who know me. I won't lie, it's a little scary but I'm happy. The questions are bound to come up between now and June.
It's like I bungee jumped, and I hope I survive.
Then I have to contemplate the alternative.
