are my seams straight?

I bought myself a neat present not to long ago. I found a place on line that
offers cuban heeled and seamed panty hose. I bought a pair just because. Now
I know I'll be the only one to see them but that's cool. I'm gong to find hoisery
styled the same way as I enjoy hanging that syle of stocking on a gatrter belt
too as well as thigh highs.
I really like looking in the mirror and seeing those seams run up the back of my legs to
disappear under a nice skirt or dress. Granted it takes a little effort to get them
straight but, to me so well worth it.

Well, if you take a laser level and turn it to run vertical and then aim it up the back of your leg, you....:). Sorry, just couldn't resist cause I never could get them straight .

Here's a tip that I discovered about putting on stockings and getting the seams straight first time.....

Stand with your back to a full length mirror, and bend down and look at your reflection in the mirror between your legs. Now, start to put on your stockings and as you pull them up, you'll be able to watch and guide the seam as you go, and have it go where you want it to. There's no more grabbing the seam and pulling it over to one side, once they're on, or pulling them back down because they wandered off to the left or right.

I just love seamed stockings. I save them for special occasions. They are so 50's. What I would really like would be seamed stockings with wide lace on top. Just can't seem to find any. I'm talking about real stockings made for garters, not thigh highs. No silicone will touch these legs!

A year or more ago I watched in horror as a sales woman put seamed hose on a mannequin backwards also. I couldn't believe it. I understand GG's (and some others ;) ) don't like to wear pantyhose and probably haven't been taught how to put them on properly but they should have.

If You all want "For Real" seamed stockings, with the loop hole, flat knit, and available in larger sizes at a reasonable price; you can't do better than Magnolia Hosiery. Look em' up on a Google Search.

To KEEP your seams straight, always use a six strap belt or girdle. They "anchor" the seam much better, and you won't find the seams to be wondering. During the era when seams were common, all women used a six strap. If you wear them outside the house. Prepare for SOME people to notice. I think you will find that Males find them fascinating, and your gonna' get "hit on." When asked why you are wearing them? Smile enigmatically and just reply: "Cause' they make me feel so feminine!"

Mother told me about the days back during WW2. Stockings were almost impossible to find, so the girls would help each other out and "draw" a seam on the back of their legs with an eyeliner pencil.

I am sure it would work today, and since we now have hosiery again, we could put sheer stockings on over the "seam".

My mother told me about this as well but they put gravy powder mixed with water all over their legs first to make them look browner then put the seams on with eyeliner pencil ....................

I know what you mean bought a pair a months ago and couldn't wait to try them on. I always enjoy trying new things and seen them on some women and always wanted to try them. I wore them once not really my look but now that you reminded me iam going to put them on. My next thing is to buy a pair of silk stockings.

Some advice girls
when lining up your stocking seams with a garter belt
Make sure you don line up the seams with the rear garters
the garter belt garters in the rear on a bit to the side of the rear so the stocking seams
will be inside the garter hooks

I once knew a young GG who had seams tattooed on the back of her legs (but the seams were too thick, they were not finished all the way to the top and bottom, and oddly she never ever wore any kind of sheer hosiery defeating the purpose of making it look like she was wearing ff nylons.) I appreciate the effort though :)

You can get real seamed (ff nylons) at Magnolia Hosiery (www.magnoliahosiery.com), they have the best price for them anywhere online (or offline.)

Real ff nylons don't have a lace top, they are smooth with a "finishing welt" in the back.
