So. A little update . After a whole week of thought and worry. No more lying and hiding. The owner of the company gave me his full support. The company president will back me. I have outed myself to most of the other supervisors and they are just as excited as I am. When I go to work on Monday it will be as Bridget. It will take the office people a little while to get over it, but I don't care anymore. I don't work with them.
Next therapist apt. in 2 weeks. I will tell her I wish to be led in the direction for surgery. I know its years away, but it's time to start.
I'm 58 years old and only pass on a good day. And happier than I have ever been.
Wish me luck
Bridget

Good on you! Your acceptance by your employer is partly due to your presentation, probably- you are finding that golden balance! I'm so happy for you.
Only thing I might add- remember that your life is a journey- this I would argue is actually as important as the surgical change- and you seem to be doing it so well. be prepared for the anti-climax too.. this is the real part of being female- or male- life is what happens between the memorable points...

Hiya Bridget, of course I wish you all the luck in the world :hugs: Although you've already shown that you can make your own good luck!
The start of your real Life Experience is always exciting and I'm sure there are a lot of thoughts running through your head about it at the moment. I found the best way to cope with those thoughts for me was to take it one day at a time.
It's great that the other supervisors are excited for you, that will definitely make things a lot simpler at work. You are also right that if you don't have many dealings with the office folk, you needn't worry too much about how long they take to get used to it, but I would encourage you to be as friendly as possible towards them, this will help them to overcome any concerns they might have.
Just one small comment, you don't need your therapist to lead you in any direction, you just need her to come with you along that path - the direction is yours alone to choose.
You will find that as you relax about being the real you people will treat you the way that you deserve - as the woman you truly are.
Do let us know how yor first day goes, and please remember that we are here for you in the good days and the not so good (although I hope you won't have many of those).
