How do you think people who don't know that you crossdress perceive you?

5 - very manly
4 - somewhat manly
3 - average
2 - somewhat feminine
1 - very feminine

This could be based on how you dress, mannerisms, occupation, etc.

I would guess that people would rate me as a 4.

I'm not very manly, and I never believed that I should pretend to be manly in order to make girls like me, because they will eventually see through the facade. I once had a girlfriend who told me to act extra manly when I met her father, which made me feel uncomfortable. I'm not interested in sports, hunting, politics, economics, cars, or most stereotypical "manly" interests. I also have a habit of being indecisive, and because of that I occasionally get comments like, "Act like a man!" or "Be a man!", which doesn't help too much. When I'm in relationships with girls I prefer to have as much equality as possible - I still pay for girlfriends' meals and hold open doors as an act of courtesy, but I refuse to see all women as fragile flowers, because many women in today's world have equalled and even surpassed men both physically and mentally.

Though at the same time, I'm not really feminine either, since I don't really have an interest in fashion, make-up, shopping or that kind of thing either. I'm simply interested in knowing what it would like to walk around as a girl and wear girl clothes, but I don't have any plan or interest (at least not right now), in changing my biological sex from male to female. So on your scale I would vote myself as a 3, right in the middle.

Edit: Oh, also, physically. Well, I am somewhat muscular, though not a body-builder type. I'm not especially tall (5 feet, 8 inches). I of course look like a guy, especially when I have short hair, but there's no "macho" vibe from my physical appearance. Also, when I look at myself in the mirror I sometimes think about how cute I would have turned out if I had been born as a girl.

I would say a 3, but people I work with might say 2.

I think that i would probably be a 2. I don't think anyone has ever described me as manly. I have no problem with that though!

I would say a 5. I am into sports and ANYTHING outdoors. No one would have a wild guess about my femme side.

01-25-2012, 11:11 AM
probably a 4. I'm tall and rather athletically built with typical nordic male features. Maybe a somewhat heavier version of Eric Northman from True Blood. (actually, I think he'd make a cute girl ;)

I think I might have been a 4, now maybe down to 3 with a better understanding & acceptance of myself.

I'd say people perceive me as a 4-5 most of the time. I have a deep voice, lots of facial hair, and I generally carry myself in a manly way. By contrast, I *feel* more like a 2-3.

SusanLCD
01-25-2012, 11:18 AM
Probably 3, but, some (redneck types) might say a 2.

I love motorcycling, football, and snow skiing. But, never developed an interest in hunting, fishing, camping, etc.

I am like the song "Girl's all get prettier at closing time" but backwards. I start out as a number 1 then settle for a 5. :)

I am usually a 3. Just your average Joe.

a fun question....in a manly business, love outdoors. not into sports ..exc sailing....deep voice...no facial hair at all ..ride the harley....wear larger earrings and i walk a bit like a women so i am told.....hell,i'm confused....a 3.5 perhaps leaning towards a 2 and feeling good with that...life is fun,esp when dressed....

Sallee
01-25-2012, 11:39 AM
I would say a 3 or 4 maybe 3.5. Personally I wouldn't think that because when I was young I was weak and not very good a sports and got teased a lot about being girly because I was skinny.
I an still skinny but now it is a plus in either mode and I am into sports biking, sailing, skiing and fairly good at them
Any way at this point in life who cares

I think most people would view me as a 3. Those who know about my ballet class or two drag show "performances" might rate me as a 2.

Probably a 4+ because of my facial hair? However, NO ONE would believe I'm Sherry. Even if I told them!

I'm a 4 probably, yet compassionate. I'm sure I'm over compensating in guy mode to hide my true self.:)

I would say a 3. I dont believe that I present myself too much one way or the other. when in drab I do common things, when en femme I do girly things :)

01-25-2012, 12:39 PM
How about a category #6 - different. People are always telling me that I am "different". They can't figure me out but they somehow know that I am different. I love to keep people guessing.

Stephanie Michelle

With the different sports and type of work I do, and my hobbies. No one would ever think I am anything less than a 5. How ever when I am on a date and a topic comes up about something feminine and I know the answer the girl just looks at me with surprise. I then say I raised 2 girls and was very much involved in their upbringing. They then usually move on to another subject luckily.

I'd guess a little below the average 3, maybe 2.5.

The public sees me as a 2.385..... My wife thinks I'm more of a 1.193..... Rounded to the nearest thousandth..... In other words.... acting twice as manly as my wife thinks I am still isn't as manly as she would like me to be!

How do you think people who don't know that you crossdress perceive you?

5 - very manly
4 - somewhat manly
3 - average
2 - somewhat feminine
1 - very feminine
.

Well, since I now prance around fully showing off my "breast development", have long painted acrylic nails, wear a woman's watch, et al., I'd have to guess, more toward a #2, but who knows what the rest think - it could be "gay," too?

My whole life, from activities to professions were considered very manily, thus I'm perceived as such. If only they knew.

2, unless working with me or working out with me, then- about 3.5.

I can be the proverbial chameleon, and change to suit my suroundings. Put me into the crowd of guys at the Super bowl game and it's all 5, get me into a group of women talking about family, children, it's 2. Thats the way I have come to like it, just fit into the situation and enjoy it for what it is.

Vickie_CDTV
01-25-2012, 03:16 PM
I'm a 3, maybe a 3.5 at most. En drab I look like a male, no doubt about it. I don't look like a macho guy or a tough guy, I am a bit of a geeky guy but I look unambiguously like a man. Except for my lack of bdoy and facial hair and maybe longish nails I look very "average", a friend said I look like Charlie Brown.

Most folks would say I am a 3+ 4 until they get to know me, then they find that I know why too much about womens fashion, sit like girl, and have some mannerisms that are feminine, beard removal lowers the number to 2 or 1+.

RachelZ
01-25-2012, 08:45 PM
I look like a 4... which I hate because people think I'm a creepy psycho killer type of person... which is completly untrue... Very few people in my personal life know what I'm really like

Jacqueline Winona
01-25-2012, 10:41 PM
Hard to say, my guess is a 3. I get along with women way too easily to be a 5, and attending the local Walk a Mile event probably contributed a little.

01-25-2012, 10:56 PM
Somewhere between a 3 and a 2. I mostly pass as a "regular" guy, but am small, not into sports, and gentle, so I wouldn't say people see me as quite "average."

KellyJameson
01-26-2012, 12:24 AM
I reverse crossdress to appear a number 5 by wearing a weathered felt safari fedora hat with Australian oiled full length coat and work boots in public to hide the fact that I'm a number one unless I'm at work or home. I offset my subconscious tendency to move and act feminine by creating the illusion of extreme masculinity to keep the haters off balance. I'm always in disguise between two opposite expressions of crossdressing.

I'd say people perceive me as a 4-5 most of the time. I have a deep voice, lots of facial hair, and I generally carry myself in a manly way. By contrast, I *feel* more like a 2-3.

I agree. I have a deep voice, am 5'11, and carry my self, wear my hair and go out in public as a man most of the time. So that makes me 4-5 most of the time. However my beard is light, I often meet women as tall as me, I just bought a wig, and have as many women's clothes in my wardrobe as I have as men's. I once told my doctor who knew I wear bras when I go out that I do not feel right if I am not wearing one. So I wear womens underwear, nylons, and pants when I go out in public. I just have no where to go right now wearing dresses, skirts, blouses, and heels. So I guess I would be most happy if I had a hour glass figure and could be a 2 most of the time.

A solid 5 here, at least to the rest of the world. In private maybe a 4, at least for now. I see that private number falling a bit in the near future. :D Everyone but my wife would probably be quite shocked, and she is still getting used to it. To the rest of the world I fall into that "redneck" category. Thinking about how the two extremes are somehow able to coexist often makes me laugh. :)

How do you think people who don't know that you crossdress perceive you?

5 - very manly
4 - somewhat manly
3 - average
2 - somewhat feminine
1 - very feminine

This could be based on how you dress, mannerisms, occupation, etc.

I would guess that people would rate me as a 4.

I would most probably rated 5 (very masculine).

when My Wife and I were together we always used a 1-10 scale to express many different things we would sometimes add a .5 if it really fell between two points.
we had discuss my CD a few times and even with the CD she rate me at 7.5 on the scale for manliness.
even when I fully dress, I still have "man" interests. yes I can shop, try on clothes but if it has tires, tits or triggers I am all in!

This is an interesting question. I am not sure I hope 4 or 5. I am basing this on where I work where not all but most have a football locker room mentality. If its shopping in drab or on the phone. I believe it a 2.

I'd say 4. I get the odd joke made about my body shaving, but everybody thinks I do it for the triathlons I do (which is true, just not the whole truth!) And I'd probably put myself at 4 too. Always thought of myself as what I suppose would be defined as masculine and continue to do so; it's just now I also define myself as a feminine 4 also. Happy days:)

A few years ago I would have said a definite 5. However I have been slowly sinking down to around 3 maybe even a high 2. Or it's gotten to the point where during male bonding sessions with my friends I am sometimes ribbed as being the girl of the group. Which I have to pretend like I'm very disturbed or embarrased by that with a very macho denial.

I'd say I'm probably about a 4...but it's starting to feel like it's a somewhat forced thing. I've been doing a lot of self observation lately and I feel like I do a lot of things that are very overly manly as a way to hide "other things" about myself.

Hard to say, I like the #6 different. I wear slightly tighter womens jeans always or shorts "not short shorts', but I guess kind of close. Long hair, totaly shaved, double ear percings and usally larger hoops. My wife says I more girly than her. But, I do usally go for the extreme type sport. But not the typical Baseball, football, basketball stuff.

Add on;
Thought about this while I was showering, someone earlier in the post said they thought they over overcompensated in male mode. I had a GG friend say she thought I ( can't remember her term ) but it meant basically, I was overcompensating for something. I kind of wonder if she suspects something?
