View Full Version : Frequency of taking pictures when dressed - how often do you do it?

When browsing YouTube I've noticed that there are a number of users who took a picture of their face every day with approximately the same lighting and facial expression. If you search for "take a picture every day" on YouTube you will find many results that show the number of years the user has been participating in the project. I'm curious if any CDs on here have done this sort of thing while dressed. For those who have been crossdressing for decades, it would be really cool to be able to look back on your femme self from years and years back and slowly observe the way your feminine side has evolved (both physically, and through changes in style, clothing, etc). You could even do the same with the masculine side just to make a comparison.

Or, if you haven't done anything like that before, how often do you take pictures of yourself while dressed? If you are a younger dresser (in your 20s, etc), have you thought of taking a picture of yourself at your young age so that when you are an older CD girl you'll be able to look back on it? When I get the opportunity to dress I know that's what I'm going to be doing.

Well, this thread is some good timing for me I guess. :) Very new here, but just got some new heels and OF COURSE had to try them on! Sadly my wife was at work while I was at home, but I let her know I was trying them on. While she is very new to the idea of me dressing, she demanded a picture! :D After texting one, her response to a picture of my legs and heels...... "Wow, you have nice legs!". yay! :) Im sure there will be many more pictures in my future!

I forgot to add my own experience - pretty much every time I've dressed, I've taken some pictures. Unfortunately I have very few of them right now since many of the earlier ones were either lost or I deleted them out of guilt. Though I want to start up a nice collection.

173023I used to take pictures and videos every time I dressed. I have a total of 10,000 pictures and 24 hours of lip sync videos. I've gotten a little burnt out on picture taking latly. I still will occasonaly take pictures when I buy a new outfit. I just like to enjoy my feminime side, and not have to hassle with the camera stuff all the time. Daviolin
P.S. This thead gives me an excuse to post a picture. I just bought this pretty red sheer top. So much fun to wear.:heehee:Daviolin

Not much. I put a couple pictures on this site, just to prove I was a real being, not some lurker. but I don't much care for the way I look in pictures, en femme or en drab.

I take pictures every time I dress so that I can try and get an objective view of myself. In addition, I show my wife and ask her for comments and tips. Pictures don't lie, the mirror does.

I take pictures when I'm out in public fully dressed. Then, I study them to see how I could do better. I took a couple videos but about the best you can do by yourself is walking a way from the camera and back so that wasn't a big help.

The pictures are nice to look at when I can't dress.

The most prevalent reason I take pictures is to send them to my wife or sister to get opinions on different looks and outfits.

I have an external drive (or two) full of years and years of photos. Seems like when I got back into dressing that every time I dressed I took thousands of photos. (Takes thousnd to get one good one!!) Especially when I was learning to do makeup. So I could critique my progress. And then when I started going out, I found a mini-tripod so I could take action photos to document my journey. Thousands and thousands of photos I used to joke that I had a camera crew follow me around. I've worn out 3 cameras... But lately I've been going out enfemme and not even taking my new camera with me.. One of these days I'm going to go through all those photos and pick out a few good ones and delete the rest.

Ohhhh. I still have a broken hard drive containing "the lost years" that I need to send in and have the files removed....

Interesting idea, do you mean videos where you have music playing and you show yourself lip-syncing to the lyrics? That's a cool idea, since it's hard to actually sound feminine if your true male voice is deep like most men.

What are the "lost years"? Old cross-dressing photos? If you don't want the files there anymore you could format the disk. I think there are also other programs you can download that due even more thorough cleaning to disks, to the point that even if government organizations were to look at your disks, they wouldn't be able to find anything!

Well, if what I'm wearing feels really good, I'll snap a picture or two just to see what it really looks like. Usually, if it feels good, it looks pretty good.

Being a husband and father, it's a lot harder to find a private time and place to dress than when single. (She knows, child doesn't). But when I do, I always take lots of pics. It takes lots of shots to get a good one. For me anyway. Before I got my first digital camera in 2000, I used a film SLR with a shutter timer and motor drive. I could lock down the shutter and take a pic every 10 seconds. That was fun. But taking the film in for processing and waiting for it to come back wasn't.

For those who remember sending film off for processing, all together now:
"Some day my prints will come......."

JenniferAtHome: Well from your avatar photo you look pretty cute to me! I think smiling really helps and you have a nice one. Personally I don't take a lot of photos, I'm too lazy.

Anytime I dress I nearly always have a camera on hand because I'm so incredibly vain.

I agree. Her avatar is very nice. Something a lot of us seem to forget is that the prettiest and sexiest thing you can wear is a smile...

Me too! Ain't that the truth! It is actually pretty helpful in getting your makeup techniques down too.

I'm prideful vain sexy & sultry I take tons of selfpics which go back to...god, IDK. Like maybe 2005'ish? But those were for a gf I once knew. Blowing that opportunity was the beginning of the fall. The seed which in time created Me :battingeyelashes: Annaliese. So..TG pics actually begin in IDK maybe 2007 or 8'ish? It's after I had lost alotta weight...all the way down to slim or petite. Got lots pics...don't see much diff between now & then except for style. More wordly self knowing, less shy, more loose & showing. More fun but..a little too bold? Loss of innocence can make one less sensitive to the needs of others until it's pointed out to you. I'm trying to return to the 'good girl' I used to be or perhaps, never was? IDK...

....the real question is how many of those pictures do we keep? I agree though, a great way to track your look over the years.

And although I'm upset at the number of great outfits, wigs, shoes etc that i've lost over the years in purges, I'm more angry that i trashed the pictures.

Thousands of crossdressing photos from 2003 and 2004.... The drive broke and I'm trying to get an identical drive to swap circuit boards to see if I can get it going. Else I will send it in and have a company recover the files for me.

Yes thats right. It is so much fun to view them. I have an extremlly deep voice. So lip syncing is the way to go for me.

I will take pictures if I have the time to myself, like a day off from work with nothing but inside things to do. I will also take them when I go out somewhere, like shopping with my girlfriend and my wife.
If I'm just relaxing about the house and don't feel like full makeup then I don't bother. I prefer to document new outfits, new places, etc.

Sveta I've never liked taking pictures of myself. I have more in girl mode already than I do in guy mode though. I deleted my first pictures in makeup and a crappy wig because I looked hideous.lol. I can see the progression enfemme from earlier pictures, so nice to have them. I really should get a tripod because I end up sitting the camera on whatever I can find. I'm not big into the picture taking thing so no big rush for it.:)

Oh... and I don't have any pictures of me when I was younger, I just started dressing fully a few months ago.

For your own sake and amusement in later years take plenty of pictures and enjoy the expeiances while doing it the memories will be priceless in a few years and you never know how they may help you to improve your look and style. But do have fun! I sure wish I had!

I tape pictures quite often. But mainly because I like to see the gradual improvement each time, and learn to improve dress/hair/makup by looking back.

Never been that much of a picture taker. Even in an event where there are a lot of pictures being taken, I end up asking others for copies so I can have some of myself. I just don't tend to think of it.

I drag out the camera frequently particularly when I have something new or just trying to practice. I too find that the mirror really doesn't tell you what you need to know. To me the picture gives you more that you can study and hopefully learn what you need to improve.

I'm another girl who always takes pics when I'm dressed . If I look good I want to have a record of it so I can enjoy looking at it in the future. I will nearly always pick out one or two of the best from the day and post them on flickr. My collection there goes back a number of years and its interesting to watch my femme progression. So far my pics continue to look better as time passes even as I get older. I have a public profile on flickr as I enjoy being seen by others and receiving compliments. I've never had a critical comment amazingly .

if u time it right and r nice u can get the girls u buy from 2 take them 4 u they love it when they know u & u give them a print or 2 they do it 4 me @ nail shop also & it is agreat learning tool its fun to have them in pic too if they have time to do their job as well I've even helped them w/displays & customers but be careful in that regard its their job and they know more than you do (esp if they really dont) i just need a faster small camera ( preferrably fuchsia or at least pink)

In my young and prettier days, I took photos more often than now when I'm older and less pretty, but I never took lots of photos. Back in the 1970's, if I wanted color prints, that meant I had to take my film to one of the local places that handled developing and printing, and there was always a risk of being outed if the kid at the photo counter took a look at your photos and realized what was going on.

My few photos of me on my Flickr pages (click here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/56651534@N02/sets/72157626251263040/)) cover about 29 years, from 1978 to 2007, as does my avatar image.

cameras hate me! :( I'm not photogenic at all. I'm also shy, but that's not the issue; I'm really not photogenic.
only in the last month I started taking some pics, mainly to check out what is going on with the makeup (something I'm really focusing now).

and while I do love your project, heck I don't wanna see a picture of me en femme from 10 years ago!!1! lol (don't pay attention to me, I'm a neurotic perfectionist control freak :x)

Every single time I dress I take photo's. Half because I want to make sure I look sufficient before going out and half because I just love photography and like the fact that I can look back on my different styles and looks. Not to mention I turn myself on envisioned as a women. I guess that sounds sort of narcissistic huh? xD

I guess you could say I am building a portfolio. For what? No clue other than for myself. I love sharing my photos!

ciao!

I take photos every time I dress more than underdressing. Fortunately for me that cant go back farther than 5 months, and really only about one month since I have been dressing, one week since makeup and wig. The more I can take , the more I can see what the F I am doing. Right now I am just doing it so fast that I have to force myself to slow down and smell the roses (or a least a floral perfume) and take n the scope of just what it is that I am really doing.

I am often amazed at the end of the week when what I have done begins to sink in, and I can begin to appreciate just what the wife must be thinking while it is all going on. this usually means she gets a special weekend...

OK, real reason is that at my age, the short term memory is going, and photos are the only way for me to remember just what the hell went on during the week.

Hugs to all, Babes

Julogden, I love your photo from 1978!! In fact I love all of your photos, but I love the way you've evolved, both in your personal dressing but also with the spirit of different decades. You definitely have the 70s and 80s look in some of your photos, which is really cool. I hope to keep dressing as long as you do and built a similar portfolio, just to see the progress.

How many people take their own photos and how many are taken by their SO or friend? Just curious.

Rarely ever anymore. Been there, done that. If I do take one, it's generally me en femme with my s/o. Yes, I still have thousands I did take in the past. Makes for a good evening of laughs when I put the one of the sd cards in the tv set. Here's the last one I ever took. Sexy or what!!!!! lol
