I think it will. Hosiery can be a fashion statement or accessory, but it also is great for those of us who's skin isn't perfectly flawless...regardless of age. At my wife's office, as at my old job, women are required to wear stockings - imagine that!

Of course, more run resistant hose would be great too ;)

Did you catch the one line in the article......

"It's worth noting that the designer himself, who often wears a skirt, fills his sensible shoes with bare legs and socks."

I know you will all find this shocking, but I love Hosiery!

Seems like there is so much debate over hosiery being in fashion or not.
From the things I have read, it is more about fashion hosiery or darker colors these days. Nude or suntan color ones don't seem to be in as much favor. I remember back in the 80's when flesh tone plain hosiery was most popular.
So, hosiery is coming back but has a new twist.

Whether people love or hate them, they seem to stir up a lot of debates or strong feelings. Men seem to love seeing nylon-clad legs, some women love wearing them, and some women act like you are committing murder by wearing them.

Me, I love them. If it is about darker hose, I can dig that.

I love wearing pantyhose. I wish that they were a lot more run resistant. I wear shear toe most of the time because I like to show off my painted toenails in my heels.

It never went out of style with me. I agree that hosiery classes up an outfit. To me, it's one of the most feminine clothing statements available, and I frankly find pantyhose a joy to wear. I welcome a comeback in elegance and style.

You can have my pantyhose when you tear them off my cold dead body.

Here is another shocker. I LOVE PANTYHOSE LOL. I just wish, in this article was a push for BOTH sexes to wear hosiery. Ah well, hopefully in time this will happen. They once again linked hose with femininity.

I certainly hope so, but probably not. They will permanently come back when the slip and girdle do.

Come to think of it, I still wear those "oppressive" garters and stockings, guess I still am waiting to be liberated as the author says.

Count me in too. I like LEGGS sheer energy, they help my legs to look pretty, plus they energize my legs.

Stocking and tights were how I got started in this business back in 1976! They feel great, especially when being touched, they look gorgeous and emphasise the shape by shading the leg as the angle of the surface to the eyeline decreases. I hope more women wear them because that means more choice in the shops for us!

Thanks for the link to the great leg show. Like the ad says, nothing beats a great pair of legs.
Most women would do well to start wearing stockings again. The majority cannot pull off the bare leg look.
For me, I'm a thigh high girl. Hanes silk reflections are my favorite.

Oh, sign me up on the "love them" list to!
Actually I underdress with them mostly every day at work, the feeling each morning when I slip them on and then pull my usual business pants over is electric... but remember... legs need to be hair free :D

Interesting when you read the article, one of the designers Marc Jacobs, has been seen in skirts from time to time, but no pantyhose.
Although sheer hosiery has been in decline for years as was mentioned, opaque tights in an ever growing array of deniers, patterns, etc have been growing in popularity. I guess I am fortunate that I love both looks, and try to incorporate either one. Even in the summer I will wear the sheerest pantyhose, although most women I talk too wouldn't. But the toeless pantyhose are addressing that issue. Just like makeup, I don't think sheer hosiery is going to completely leave the scene.
