We have 5 vehicles in our household 1 BMW, 2. Toytoa Camery, 3. F250 4-door truck, 4. Goldwing GL1800, 5. old work truck.. plus 4wheelers, jet skis, etc..

One day last week I drove the BMW (Belongs My Wife) so I could see if I can figure out the "strange odor."
when I arrived to work in it severeal of the other guys ask "in the chickmobile" today? some of them know I CD and were kidding me as to my plans after work... "have your make up in the trunk?"

made me think.. If I were fully dressed and in the truck I am SURE i would stand out a lot more than if in a chickmobile!

What is your ride?

I drive a cute black 03 Ford Ranger FX4/Level II 4x4 pickup... Wanted the pink pin stripes but they weren't available that year.. :(

My wife drives the 2000 Toyota Sienna. I'll take it out enfemme when I want to feel like a soccer mom... I really miss my little old 74 SAAB Sonett III.... .

VW Jetta - lighted makeup mirrors on both sides. The day after I drove it home, caught a re-run of NCIS with DeNozo proclaiming that not only was it a chick car, so was the entire VW line. BUSTED!!

The closest thing we have to a chick mobile would be my wife's little Mazda Tribute SUV, kind of a girly metallic red. My main vehicles are an Avalanche and a Aveo 4dr for commuting.

Dodge RAM 4X4 quad-cab in the winter. But lots of the rural women up here drive big trucks, so it could qualify as a "chick mobile". :-)

Yamaha 1300 Venture in the summer. Again, lots of women ride big bikes too, so it too could qualify as a "chick mobile" :-)

I drive a 2004 Bright Red Lincoln LS that was my late wife's car. When she died in 2005 I got rid of my 2004 Lincoln and kept hers because she had less than 10,000 miles on hers and mine had over 100,000 miles. But hers is definitely a "chickmobile!"

The only car I have is a super cute little khaki colored Toyota FJ Cruiser. Most people think it's a little butch looking for me, but I totally disagree. It's funky and spunky like the driver. ;-)

Plus, men tend to love my truck and I get the cutest guys asking me questions about it all the time.

Is it a chickmobile? Hell yeah!

I drive a 3/4 ton truck that I get teased about, them saying I look butch in it!

I just offer to put their vehicles in the back and get them home, which especially bugs the smaller truck folks! Heehee!

I drive a 1976 Dodge Aspen! Sadly, every cop around here knows its me, so i don't drive dressed very often. My other car is a 1985 Dodge Ram one ton stretch van! Certainly not a chick car! The 1976, is now classic, and gets too much attention! In this redneck area, everyone has seen it, and look. Oh well, drive dressed at night!

I drive what many critics and public say a chick mobile, MB SLK. But mine is AMG version which comes with 5.5L V8 and 355hp. My daily driver is Toyota Prius probably not viewed as chick mobile though may be viewed as something else negative.

I have a pickup and a porsche. Neither looks much like a chick car. Maybe if I painted it pink? But even then.....Here's the infamous 'pink pig'.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b1/Porsche_917-20_Pink_Pig_Sau_1971_front_2009-03-14_A.JPG

i have a very old IH scout i drive..my daily driver is a manly vehicle as well (dodge truck)..i jusy cannot see myself in soccer mom type vehicle..as long as there is plenty of room for the make-up i consider my vehicle a little chick-a-fide..my one big issue is i like mud..hence the scout..but i have ruined a few high quality rigs though by hitting mud puddles when i am in the old old scout..only thing i can say is i am not a candidate for SRS..

I can relate to eveything you said! Everything we drive has 4footises a pullin' with Z-71 stamped on it or the Big Goat. Now I'm not just talking about both sides of me but my wife too. There's nothing sexier than heels in the bog-holes and a skirt helps you keep cooler than short-sleeve britches.

I dirve a 2006 soccer mom Chrysler T&C van. I love it compared to my old pickups. When the weather permits I am on a 50 cc scooter to get around town that gets about 90 miles per gallon which should help with the gas prices they say are coming this summer.

well, for quite a while I was driving my SO's car to work(maxima) to save on gas (ugh! gas prices!) and she has Tinkerbelle stuff like seat and steering wheel covers. Boy! the looks and smiles I would get! I normally drive a pick-up but too expensive.

Currently, no. But back in the late '80's, I drove a cute, little Subaru Justy, white with a pink and purple decal on each side. I loved that car: fast (5-speed manual transmission) and 41 miles to the gallon. Fun to drive, economical and I looked good in it when dressed too. ;)

This chick likes the great outdoors so everything is four wheel drive, bright red Jeep Wrangler with soft top that stays off in the summer, very fun to drive while dressed enfemme. Land Rover for dangerous excursions to the mall and a 1970 bright yellow Ford Bronco that I bought when I turned sixteen and has to many memories to part with. Perfect vehicles for living in the Northwest.

I have thought about this a lot but when it comes to cars I am very pragmatic. Several years ago we bought twin Hondas... a CRV and Type R Civic... one very practical and the other just plain silly but fun... The idea was that we would mix and match... Guess who got to drive the CRV all the time! So I changed to a Volvo V70... I do need to shift lots of kit sometimes and this seemed a good compromise... fast, comfy seats and loads of room! My wife has only driven this car once as well! She used to let me play with the Type R every now and again... but I haven't had that opportunity for about a year!

We got my daughter a Ford KA to run around in, but she has left home and I have used it a lot as it is cheaper to run than the Volvo... so I guess my 'girly' car is the KA... it feels like that... well until I totalled it a few weeks ago in the snow!

Now I am Volvo girl again!

The I wish girly car? Mazda MX5! or I might settle for an RX8!

I'm not sure what the requirements for a "chick mobile" are, so I'll just list what I drive, and you be the judge.

2000 z28 Camaro - not really what the average girl would enjoy driving, but maybe an above average girl?

1985 Chevy Blazer 4x4 - No woman would be caught dead driving this vehicle. It has 40 inch tall mud tires, no mufflers, and a rusty body, not a chick car.

Honda cbr 600 - Maybe? I'm not sure. More and more women nowadays are enjoying bikes.

A few years back when I bought my car, it is a small car, I had my choice of colors on the lot. There were so many black, gray / silver and tan, but only one light blue. I wanted to be different so I picked that one. Next day I look at it and say, oh crap this is definitely a chick car, then I thought, oh wait, this is good, it is a chick car!

About 3 years ago, I pulled into a parking space at work. As I got out of my car a woman that was getting out of hers, said, "nice car, but they are for women" (or something to that effect). Funny, I never thought of PT Cruiser as being a chick car! This woman was somewhere around 55-60 years old. A 2004 PT Cruiser, bright red with chrome mags, a chick car? Who'd a thunk it? lol

I think my red Miata would qualify.

Nothing like tooling around in in in the Summer in a short skirt. I'm thinking the truck drivers can probably get a good look. :)

Strangely, though it has a reputation as a 'chickmobile', almost all of the Miata drivers I see on the roads around here are guys.

I promised when I retired I wouuld scale down the garage, and I did, sort of. Cars were my hobby since childhood. When I began to retire, I was paying insurance on seven vehicles. Five were driven about 150 miles a year each, all collector cars(muscle cars) with classic insurance on them. Just before I sold my house, I managed to sell all the cars(6) for a fair price. That was almost two years ago. Since then, I have bought 2 new four wheelers, 2 new snowmobiles( I had two previously though before moving) a 2010 Corvette Z06 and a Suzuki 1300R Hayabusa. I kept my 2008 HEMI 4 door pickup 4x4 which now has about 24,000 miles on it and is my daily driver. I used to be insurance poor, now I'm gas poor. I promised I will not buy any more cars from here on in and I think I'll sell the bike in the spring( I don't have the strength in my arms anymore to hold this missile to the ground. If this thing ever gets airborne, I'll end up in another time zone.) I guess none of them are really chicmobiles but then, I'm into speed and power, not magnets.

I drive a Ford Ranger extra cab not really a chickmobile. Don't worry though if your not driving a chickmobile now just wait 5 years or so and GM(Government Motors) and the other auto makers will be selling them exclusively(think Smart car). So, Yeah you'll get 50 mpg but you won't be able to fit a toothbrush in it. Then you say, so what! I'm getting 50mpg i can buy as many toothbrushes as I wan't right! Good point! But consider that in 5 years we'll all be paying European gas prices and then how many toothbrushes can you afford? My point is choice! Something that has always been consumer driven is becoming government mandated and that's not good. All I'm saying is that 5 or 10 years down the road I want the choice to buy a gas guzzling, smoke spewing diesel, RAM 4x4 without the Green Police taking me to the Big House!.........I'm sorry what were we talking about?...... Oh yeah, I'm on my way to trade in my pick up for a new chickmobile. Well you know what they say "If you can't beat em join em".

I have a chick car in a 1995 Honda Civic Ex. But, it is heavily modified and I can push almost 150 with it. Engine swap, racing tranny (pun:D), all new electrical components. I have sunk about $5,000 into the car in aftermarket parts... money that could have been spent on dresses and shoes :/

oh well. So yeah, I drive a chick car, but I'll smoke you on the track.

I drive a Ford Explorer and there are 5 or 6 just like it in town and all of them are driven by women so it must be a chick car. I also have a Harley Softtail Deluxe that I bought from my daughter. Ever since the Superbowl, I have been salivating over the Fiat 500 Abarth. Don't know which idea is the most intriguing:

a) being the guy fondled by the hot Italian girl
b) being the hot Italian girl
c) driving the little hot chick car.

Probably b+c; being the hot Italian girl driving the hot Italian Chick car.

Yes I know that the ad was supposed to make guys think the Abarth is a guy car, but come on - just look at it!

The ad is online at : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auZgAcQbTLw

BTW DSW (DearSweetWife) and I drive a shiny black VW CC (with black leather). It goes really well with "our" (mine actually, but she wears it more than I do) long black leather coat. Guy-me drives a '93 Mustang beater with a trailer hitch...

I also have a Mazda Miata that I drive every day, that's probably a chick car too.Had a friend in the '60s who used to race them. If you started with the smaller Mini, put the S engine in it goosed to 125HP, tightened the suspension, big tires, then stripped everything out of the interior but a racing seat, the GVW went down to about 600 lbs. and it would corner 90 degrees at better than 60 mph (the fastest with me riding, anyway). Not a chick car, but a rice rocket before they came into existence from Japan(though Japan had at least one Toyota that used the same idea).

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with an MX-5 Miata. Mine's an '01 in blue, it's got 250k+ miles on it, and aside from some electrical problems (I've had three alternators in it.) works and drives like a champ. My major complaint (when I was working for the State of Florida) was it didn't have much cargo room.

Oh, yeah! Top down, driving on the highway with tunes and my hair blowing in the wind - almost like riding my Harley Softail, although you can't do that in a skirted suit!

Whe i bought my first subaru 12 years ago- the sales guy must have taken me for a fellow (is that the right word?) gay, he was really good to me. Base model, right off the showroom- but a heck of a nice car, really. Found out that the Forester was preferred by women at the time- they were more than 50% of the purchasers. I was quite pleased with that. So i guess it was a 'chick car'.

I like the AWD (serious snaps to subaru, more than once i've entrusted my family's safety to the design), and general 'can do' ability. Replaced it a few years ago with a 3rd gen turbo model- not the rocket the earlier ones were but still faster than my wife's 85 mustang was.. no fooling. Cruises very solid at 80+, awesome torque for a 2.5 liter (230 ft-lbs at 2800rpm!!!). Also cruises well on snow and ice- i was returning from field job in MN, on the tail of a bad winter storm- 9 hours of icy and snowy roads. Averaged 65 mph on the road, very good. New tires make a difference, too- to don't think a new car is always necessary.

Will zip up to 110 in less than 3/4 mile, even on backroads it feels quite solid, hardest i ever drove it in never dropped below 15mpg over the average, even multiple 0-100 runs and 100+ short runs for a few miles between stops.

My wife's car, G35x, is actually even better in the snow, at highways speeds. One of CU's most reliable cars, the AWD option is a no brainer. It's a bit quick on throttle response and steering is precise- but she is 5' and 100#- she's got faster reactions than the average fighter pilot. fits her very well. This is the base engine and chassis of the Skyline of yore, and the current Nissan GT-R. Good sorority. You will NOT be disappointed. And we saw 28 mpg on a recent kilomile trip- at 75-80 and the A/C on. That's impressive.

but back to the Forester: not a chick-car per se, but it is MY 'chick-car'. I keep it unnaturally clean for a typical guy, spritz Vera Wang or Prada infusion d'iris perfume onto the air vents for a nice feminine scent for longer trips... If i had unlimited funds, i'd still have one. Might try the new x3 3.5 liter, or maybe a Lexus 450 hybrid. But the ultimate? Cayenne turbo, Infinity FX50, or BMW x6 in a pastel color. "I am transgender, hear me ROAR, and suck on my exhaust, sweetie-pie.' ;-)

Also- love to get a 500-650cc sport tour config motorcycle- pink or lavender color or accents- with pink-grey or lavender-grey leathers, boots, helmet, gloves, etc.

you have to love this Japan Cosplay outfit:

Sandra- the z28 is PURE chick-mobile. when driven by a girl. I understand the van- had them for work- mini-van actually. The 97 Voyager had the most comfortable seating position i ever found- like sitting in a kitchen chair- reading at the table. I've done 13 hours up to northern MN after a full day at work in that thing. uber-comfort.

no tinting though. Right now, if considering room for changing, if i had unlimited funds... either a Lincoln Navigator or a QX56, heavy tinting. the high up seating keeps you a bit more anonymous.

Hell yeah!

oh Yeah. FJ is awesomely funky/spunky chick-cool.

I've found that taking out the passenger seat grants an extra bit of room (I spend a lot of time in National Parks camping, take a lot of gear) ... :D

Amusing thread! I have a Honda Accord, pretty run-of-the-mill. Many years ago when I was working as an auto mechanic (horrible on your nails *wink*), men in Alabama would bring a car in for service and most of the time they would make this same excuse (from every guy): "This is mah wahf's car, I drive a pig-yep truck." I thought it was funny, apparently men in Alabama do not find cars manly at all, and men are supposed to drive pickups. I live in Texas now and again I'm the rare exception, I drive a car, when almost everyone in this area drives a pickup - even and especially the women. To quote one female coworker I used to have, "They're just too handy!". To get the full flavor of that, you have to hear it in the original west Texas accent.

The only thing that makes me frown about this though is that they make a conscious decision to buy that big huge pickup (and even the women are driving RAM 3500s and Ford F-Gigantics and so on, back and forth to the grocery store...) and then they gripe about how much gas costs for it. If you didn't want to spend that much on fuel costs, you should have purchased something more efficient, I think - and have said so, only to get slapped down by "It's just too handy!" and "Not everyone can afford two vehicles." I can't either, so I bought what I thought would be best. I don't need a pickup to go to the grocery store, I have a trunk in my car.

I don't drive a chick-mobile. But I sure saw one today. Volkswagen Beetles, already a chick car to begin with (heck, they ought to come with breasts), are pretty much all for women. This one was lipstick red, and the driver had installed eyelashes above the headlights.

I'm not kidding.

My latest is definitely not a chickmobile...

A POS 1981 Chevy C10 Silverado shortbed with a 350hp 350, soon to be installed Tuned Port Injection.

Tearing the old Turbo400 transmission out this weekend (it was "rebuilt" by someone that did not need to be around tools, much less transmissions - I bought it this way) and making way for a 4 speed auto so we can drive it and get more than 6 MPGs...

I'm sorry, I never saw the attraction in a pickup except for certain people. I can see someone working in construction, or hauling plywood, lumber, concrete or sheetrock, but a twenty-something bleach-blonde secretary in a tight short skirt, hose, and 4" heels struggling to get in and out of a monster F-750? Don't tell me that's your husband's truck, I've seen you driving it every day to work! You don't have any room for your kids in there!

So, I'm obviously missing something - what's so 'handy' about them?

I guess my qualifies as a chick-mobile. I have a dark gray Lexus RX-450h Hybrid, light gray leather interior. I have read one online post about a male RX hybrid owner who sold his after being teased about having a ladies car. I get 27 MPG overall, I suppose I would get 30+ If I did a long 30 mile commute like my wife. She get's 50 MPG from her older 2007 Prius (46 MPG). I mostly drive it around town, since I work out of my home.

The future of cars is electric!! Charging electric cars is really really really cheap. An electric Tesla Roadster sports car costs $0.04 a mile while Porsche 911 costs $0.20 a mile. It even beats a Prius at $0.07 a mile.

It even beats a Prius at $0.07 a mile. That may be true, Kylie, and I hope it is. However, you're in Bah-stun, and have public charging spots in a fairly compact urban area. Most of the rest of the country is far more built out, and DOESN'T. What we need is dozens - hundreds of charging points at places like shopping malls, with enough amperage to each point (I read somewhere we'd need 70 amps for each point for a half-hour charge.), AND for the prices to come down to where Joe Sixpack can buy a car for $10k. We'd also need a standardized PLUG or inductive charging, and for range to be better than 200 miles on a charge.

All this means government financing of some sort, and with <Political> GOP hypocrisy and W's Recession </Political> I don't see this happening. I hope it does, but companies like Tesla are not GM.

Until then, I'll keep driving my PAID OFF '01 Miata ...

Sure I drive a chick car, I know because I drive my wife's previous car, 1999 Mazda 626. Sold my pickup which got 12 miles per gallon. I has a tiny bit of jewelry for ornamentation. And its handy, I can fit a wig, makeup and padded bra in the console.

I actually was just thinking about this last week! I have two vehicles currently. During the summer months only, I drive a 1989 Mustang LX 5.0 convertible with a bunch of go-faster goodies. But my daily driver is a modified 07' Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with all wheel drive and over 450hp. With a shot of nitrous, over 550 horse on tap! If ya ride with me you better hang on! Gotta be the first to the mall to catch those early bird sales! It isn't much of a "chickmobile" tho. To that end, I thought of getting some pink decals that I could apply to the rear glass and maybe at the top of the windshield. Something like "badass chicks drive badass toys"lol. I like that one. Or, how about one of those "Cowgirl Up" banners? Hmmm...... I dunno. If I do that, I'll be sure to post a few pics. Hugs, Tonya

last time i posted, two days later- 2.5 years after I got my baby- Subaru Forester Turbo- I had a problem. Lost boost- the car ran, but no turbo boost. I dug into it a bit but could not see anything. the 2009s had some oil line problems- the turbos fried- but this was not it- a fitting buried deep in the turbo air line spaghetti came loose. My dealer fixed it for 100- not even covered by the warranty as it was a hose issue- (Subaru- get you sheet together- don't nickle and dime- it's bad joss).

But we are back to our old tricks- my wife even likes to drive it- the turbo rush and high torque at low rpm gives her a thrill. She came to pick me up yesterday- i saw her zipping in like crazy- she's a petite girl, reactions better than any fighter pilot. I hate the way she follows too close- but i have to admit- i feel plenty safe with her driving, even if it is rude, and illegal.

So yes, the 2010 Forester turbo is a chick car.
As is the G35x.. now that it is out of warranty.. hmmm.. turbo kit for $6k? fadec for 2k? easy way to go from 310 hp to 450hp... program it for better low rpm torque, ala Porsche's & Subaru's turbos- 47 year old nurse- zipping around like a 20 something gearhead... this is how you keep your marriage fresh after 20+ years...
